They are but mostly in 20+ minutes redundant videos, nobody would give you an overview of the Hype synth in 5. That format is your unique selling point. Or USP as I learnt on a call today…
that’s one of the things I enjoy about them, having so many perspectives to learn from, and yours would surely be appreciated
When I am working quickly chopping samples I often accidentally hit “normalize” when I mean to hit “truncate”. This is not such a big deal until you are working with longer samples and then it takes a while to normalize. It would be cool to have a button combo (like hitting “exit” 4x’s) that would cancel the normalization. I haven’t seen anything in the manual-does anyone know if this is a function?
There’s so many banks that I basically use a couple as a sample graveyard. That’ll give you like 24 slots to sample anything into then copy to another bank to chop and edit. That way you can always go back and dig them back up. You could always save and organise them in the computer but I’m not that efficient that’s why it’s called the graveyard lol. Just designate certain banks as an audio pool. I’ve usually got one page with like 4 x 4 piece simple drum kits too for laying down quick beats.
Anyone?
I think L was replying to you, not directly though
I personally use a ‘1 bank, 1 song’ approach and I’m quite brutal in deleting, so usually after I resample a pad, I delete the source one…
This sounds like a good idea! Thanks for the tip.
Yeah, after using the machine for a few more hours now I can see the logic in the ‘1 song, 1 bank’ approach. Having material for a song that stretches across more than one bank and expecting to be able to play it properly live, unless you’re just starting up a couple of loops, seems like a fool’s errand!
I suppose you could stretch it out if you were also playing patterns, but I get the impression that most live players do try to play it actually live (I will have to investigate whether it seems practically possible to build up a pattern live in the moment or not, mind). Can you send the metronome to the cue out?
I sure would appreciate if a Solo Pad/Group function were added in the next update.
It would make tracking to the DAW so much more chill.
anyone know the CC deets for the FX buses off their head? Want to give it a try
Here you are :
What are you exactly trying to accomplish?
controlling the FX CC from external source, if I’m not mistaken it was added last update and would allow me to sequence/modulate the FX. Just gonna experiment with it
Look under ‘Control change numbers and corresponding EFX controls’. Isn’t that what you are looking for?
Oh cheers mate I didn’t scroll that far on my phone, I just saw that part with bus FX on the right side and it baffled me a bit. The other chart makes much more sense. Nice one
You’re welcome, and please share the results. I like to sea/hear it!
Just bumping this to see if anyone has a solution…
If your patterns are changing in time at the end of the pattern and the project bank BPM is synced to your master clock I’d consider this a bug and open a ticket with Roland.
Had a go at midi import. You can’t send CC out which is a shame but it can handle surprisingly complex midi sequencing. I expected resolution loss. This and even the inclusion of a midi out port leads me to believe that some sort of midi sequencing might actually come in an update, maybe CC automation with it but based on how it works so far I’d think that would come with being able to motion record the FX internally now that they’ve got CCs. Can’t be sure or anything
