this seems like a very frustrating and cumbersome sampler TBH… hope to be wrong.
Leon, is that you? You finally came back to this Avatar.
the prophecies came true, nice
The biggest difference is that there is no real “automation” on the P6 though. Only a few parameters can be “locked” per step, this is an important caveat. It doesn’t bother me, but it’s not like an elektron device in that aspect:
P-6 Owner’s Manual (roland.com)
For instance no step locking for the filter cutoff.
Just when I thought the Prophecy was Tonwerk.
It seems a reasonable machine , and buying small devices over a long time ‘feels’ cheap
But if you held back and bought a sampler with synth, fx , chords and pads, a bassline synth, sequencer - you could end up with a single box that does more … eg akai mpc, maschine etc esp if they’re 2nd hand
If I bought this it’d probably end up in the same draw as t8,s1,many pocket operators etc etc.
Unfortunately typical Roland. I was actually mildly interested in this, but no CC control sample parameters will make this about as useless as the T-8 in my setup. Bummer, I had hoped the S-1 meant they were going to start offering more CC control in the Aira range.
yeah… I feel like they opened a post the other day to send me a message… so yeah, I’m back to my original form.
Mods should merge this thread with the DT feature requests…
“slide”. Slide this thread smoothly into the DT2 one.
I was dreaming about this on gearspace when the first Aira compacts came out! I’m stoked. Instabuy.
take my money
Now lets have the Aira Compact Modbap Trinity for 219€ please.
Wow, was hoping Roland would do a little Aira poly sampler. Hell yes.
The simple mute access looks fun.
I’m sure the P6 will be wonderful fun for you. But FYI Koala is literally just a software clone of the SP-404. To the point where these days you can literally use one as the controller for the other. So if you’re looking for Koala in hardware, that exists.
But does it have song mode?
Nice addition to the series!
At least, Roland investing in kids toy will bring them future customers.
How is the fun factor?
