Ok - super frustrating evening, trying to use CV/ Gate out on the TB-303 to sequence the MC-202.
Yes - it is like all people on the internet across different forums tell you: your timing is completely off - even on play mode on the MC-202, making external sequencing completely impossible on a non-modified OG-unit 
Lesson learned.

i wonder has anybody ever filled the 999 note capacity with some sort of massive long partita or sonata for solo mc202? what happens when you fill up all the notes does it just stop?
Anybody here using also an SH-101 in addition to the 202?
Would be interested in opinions, pro and cons.
(For me the main argument was the much smaller footprint in terms of size to go for the 202).
First real test-drive of the newly upgraded Roland MC-202 by @tubbutec Tried to use it in an IDM context along with the Monomachine SFX-6 (serial no #243, used for pad sounds and FM-drums) and my favorite drum machine, the Machinedrum.
I havenāt used the 202 that much yet - but I every time I switch on this little box, I am surprised how fat and lush it sounds. Much more versatile than I initially expected and super fun to use with one slider per function functionalities. The 2oh2-upgrade adds so much (step probability matrix for gates and modifiers, different playhead directions, patterns, super easy to use song-mode, an advanced arpeggiatorā¦).
Iād never wanna miss it. Live recorded in a single take on 1010 Bluebox. Delay and reverb added here.

Unfortunately, it doesnāt include a built-in sequencer, so I assume there are no accents or slides 
Slide on the 202 is controlled by the portamento amount. The knob is there. I guess they expect you to do the rest in whatever DAW youāre using. They have also split out the accent knob to be two separate values (vel->vca/vel->vcf) where the 202 has one knob, but two settings (either the accent affects vcf as well, or it doesnāt).
For me the sound is very close, it has the character, and getting a poly mode is a nice luxury. Itās a great bit of software for the money. Most other devs would charge at least double the non-sale price they have it at.

Here is a first try, all the synthesizers are from the AD-202. The polyphonic mode is a bit tricky because it tends to saturate very quickly, but I like it, haha.

Yea, I saw that and was hoping someone here tried it. I think I might just buy an MS-1 MK II and sequence it with the Cirklon for my Ā« poor manās 202 Ā». The other emulation is good, but no sequencer.

Itās good. Feels really authentic and from what I can gather itās a like for like replica.
No manual, no help getting started. So really, you need to know how to work a 202. What I mean by that is, it took me about 45 minutes to figure out how to turn the sequencer off! As the sequencer triggers as standard when you press play.
Not holding your hand, this is for 202 users, of which I am not. But itās simple enough and sounds like a 202 to me!!
may have just impulse bought another mc202 online for a bargain priceā¦
