Roland JV1080/2080: Bioluminescence Soundset

Hey all, for those who are interested. I’ve programmed a new soundset with 128 patches for the Roland JV1080/2080 models. Much love and dedication went into this theme based preset library.
Wondering if anyone is still using JV’s…

Still using my JV1080 (and have the Cloud version too), so great to hear these. Nice programmed there too!

Do you know if these will work on an XV-5080 too?
Just sold my JV-2080 to fund another synth and I only have the XV left of the Roland romplers.

Sweet!
Thanks for the answer. Maybe you should mention it in the gumroad -description too. The soundpack sounds great, good work!

I’ll be sure to get it when I have some free time.

Never expected to see a thread like this here. A few years ago, I was going to sell my JV-1080 (with a bunch of expansion cards) and my Korg TR-Rack. Guitar Center said they’d giver me $200 for both. Um, no. I then used them to occupy shelf space in my basement and just about a month ago, connected both of them to the rest of my studio for the first time in maybe 10 years. so, anyway, thanks for doing this. I’ll check out what I need to do to put your soundest to work.

they are great machines, i have a more superior jd990 that i often use…
i made 2 soundsets for the jv. i programmed them with old editors, loads of work but def worth the effort. i would say 90% of the waveforms in the jv suck… the rest is pretty usable.

this is another soundset i’ve programmed.

the jv’s (At least the 1080) needs some enhancing, I noticed an spl vitalizer can get loads of more details out of the sounds.

tnx for your support

what are your thoughts on the cloud version? i have the feeling they are very near. i do prefer the hardware, it has slightly more depth in the effects and also the width and definition of the sounds… still i treat it

Only had the Cloud version a few weeks whilst had the JV1080 since it first came out! So far been actually enjoying the software version a lot, although would prefer if the screen access were a little larger too, given that it could be now. Sonic wise they do indeed seem very close. Happy to find the expansions in the library too so great to have those cards available now as well.

To be honest it’s still such a great sounding synth in both formats!

yes the interface design is terrible on all these vst’s… i can not understand how they did that… it’s a more time consuming thing to make a patch on the vst instead on third party editors and the interface itself… it doesn’t invite me at all… yes i have the vintage expansion card too, it’s currently in my 990 but I might swap it to the 1080

Essential synth imo, voiced like nothing else for pads and lush orchestral…
