Another case of Roland not reading the room/market, they’ve completely missed the demand for something with the MV-8000 lineage and allowed Akai to take over.
Hope Roland get it right this time …as the new Sonicware TB/sampler has captured more actual flow — as in nonstop creative creation and real-time play than any groovebox before it.
Anyone could take that concept and turn it into a proper pro product: Pioneer merging the entire Toraiz line (+ some DJ FX) into one live-playable production station : amzeballs !!… or you, Dear Roland.
And please for the love of Baby begeezes taking his first steeps on waater >> put a real 303 voice with mods in there.
How much does a 303 clone kit even cost in mass mechanical production at this point — €15–20?
If Behringer can ship a fully assembled one for around €100…”
I’ll be attending Movement this year. Usually, they have a regular booth where people can demo their flagship products. Having this in VIP will be interesting. Considering the heavy involvement of Detroit producers in the TR-1000 design, I’m going to assume there will be panels and demos around that product.

I’ve been having a lot of fun recreating presets from the free (for now) Zenology GX app on my SH4d.
Obviously can’t recreate everything (no filters/lfos/envelopes per partial, only one filter type, nowhere near the same number of PCM sounds), but where the sounds are analogue waveform based the SH4d can get pretty close.
It’s been a great learning experience, it has shown me how deep the SH4d is, and how immediate creating sounds is with what I think is a well thought out menu system for sound creation under a nice knob per function interface.
It has its well know frustrations but I’m really glad I bought it as a sound module.

Roland tends to do things a bit different…targeting big event like Movement Detroit for certain product launch

i want them to release an mc202 with four tracks an analogue sound engine, built in fx, and knob per function with no screen maybe just a shift key menu - and it has to be gray blue and white

I use my 404 almost every day and I don’t even know how to get to the step sequencer. I guess that simultaneously demonstrates that some functionality is a bit hidden, but also that the stuff that is hidden is not necessary.
I find the 404 one of the quickest and easiest pieces of gear to use when I use its core functionality in the way that it is supposed to be used. It just has a bunch of extra crazy shiz that you only find if you know the secret password.

On that note a new flagship sampler would be delicious - the big-boy to the 404, or even at this point a new iteration of the 404 would be sweet. Not sure how likely that is though. They’ve released 11 SP’s in 28 years so tbh it’s time for a new one!

Haha I meant the step sequencer, I use the pattern sequencer all the time 
Apparently this is how I get it:
When in Pattern sequencer press Rec, then press the REMAIN button to switch to TR-REC.
Open the Grid: Press REC again to open the step sequencer grid on your screen.
Hold down the SUB PAD button and press the pad containing the sample you want to sequence.
Sounds gross I’ll stick with real time recording

Ha! Yeah, remain is where it’s at! The step sequencer is great for dropping a sample in like a freshly recorded loop! Past that I really don’t use it unless I’m building up patterns from loops. Works really well if you want keep each loop as a separate stem!

That’s the same for the S1. And I’d argue it’s relatively easy to make core features work. The hard part comes when you want to add functionality because the hardware is capable. How do you layer all those features and functionalities that it still is accessible. To be fair it is a hard discipline
