no way…the mad lads actually did it
i heard a rumour that it’ll feature on autechre’s next release …
and radiohead are using it on their new album. thom yorke is going to dress up as one during the encore at a secret launch gig.
those rumours might be real… they might not …
From the music compositions used in the audio demos, they are thinking of the educational market. The keyboard partly fits into this market, just on what it was to begin with.
I guess at least some students will spend more time making progress playing because of this.
Where’s the cutoff age – 12 ? – not sure. It obviously depends on the kid.
I can see a few conservative / conventional teachers being aghast at this.

Can you imagine an MPC XL with Minion or Doraemon colorway ? There goes my wallet
Minions is like oddly giant in Japan and Taiwan I know… so it actually is more of a draw there than in the western countries, I feel like here it feels like making a crazy frog version of it or something.
(I might be first in line for crazy frog go keys
)
I need these voices in Roland Cloud.
I wanna know about velocity sensitivity. I need to multisample one of these.
can someone pair the minions keyboard with the miku stomp?? you know you wanna hear it…
Impressive to me is how they have both consonants and vowels as a part of this. The consonants all seem to be leading consonants. And they are all plosive consonants b, p, d, and maybe a sort of a t. No g that i heard. The vowels seemed to be all the regular.customers.
I wonder how you select them, perhaps with a expression pedal., or with velocity. Plus there will be different patches.
Obviously the same technologies could be used with all sorts of other voice qualities. I think of the Casio keyboard that you can script whole words and voices for, as well as vocal qualities, like a singing cow.
i wanted to open up q credit card when i lived in taipei just so i could get one of the minion branded cards
if im remembering correctly its velocity based on the Jazz Scat preset on my friend’s go:keys 3, could go from a quiet quick “bop” to a big loud “BAOOW”, with some others in between
