Anyone using one with an external midi controller.

The arp is triggering when I press play on the LP pro. Not very clear if you can disable this in the manual.

I just clear the sequence on 1-1 so there’s nothing for it to play. It’s my blank pattern. Also, if you don’t push the sequencer play button on the SH01A the sequencer shouldn’t start when it receives transport

There is a setting for disabling start of the sequencer when a midi clock is received. Somewhere in the manual.

Can the Sh-01a send audio via USB direct to your DAW and be powered from the same connection?

Yes.

All the boutiques (except the SE-02) can do this.

This is often a thing but it can be fixed, there’s a thread here dedicated to solutions.

Non-isolated USB sourced noise on various synths - definitely seems to be a thing

I wonder how many others might be experiencing something similar to this…? I noticed recently, that there was a 7400Hz noise spike on my Minitaur. Also spotted it on my Blofeld, Supernova 2 and Kronos. It’s observable using a spectrum analyser in Ableton or Cubase. It is possible to hear it too, although it’s not ever-so prominent. Balanced cables on the SN2 made no difference. Nords (Wave and G2) were all clear of the same noise. It turns out that the Minitaur and Blofeld spikes disappear wh…

Yeah, with some special cables like the one provided by Arturia I guess.

Some computer have noisy power on their USB bus, that’s true. On the Boutiques this can leak into the analogue outputs.

However, this has no impact on the digital audio that goes to your DAW, so in practice it’s not an issue.

Purchased, but cant get them onto the SH01-A by following the directions for a restore from the manual. what am i doing wrong?
Any one have experience here? I am following the directions as for a restore, straight out of the manual ( the irritating one that came with the unit that unfolds like a huge road map) and the patches wont load to the machine. It keeps playing the factory patches.
Is there some secret sequence of buttons that Roland expects me to press, contrary to what the manual tells me?
Do i need to sacrifice a small chicken?

Makes sense! In any case, I’ll also contact other buyers to double check if there are any issues. So far, I haven’t heard of any issues but I’m aware that it doesn’t solve your problem. I’ll keep in touch with you via mail!
