Rodec MX Modular Mixer

One came up on Reverb over the summer and the seller wanted $1500US. :sad face:

It’s ridiculously expensive but I’m definitely in love:

I’m trying to convince myself that it would replace a whole bunch of things in my studio and therefore isn’t that expensive, but… it really is.

Beautiful, I’m sure you get what you pay for too. It’s on the “when I get famous” shopping list.

if I won the power ball millions lottery, this and a Colossus would be really fun in my humble studio!

big boops for sure

It’s a really nice mixer, but for hobbyists with a bit of space, you can build something more flexible for less (Big Six + 500-series rack + DJ mixer). For someone making money from gigging live or renting their studio, I think it’s a nice solution.

For me one of the drawbacks is that none of the channels are amplified unless you add a module in the dedicated bay. That limits what you can use (channel strips or Rodec modules).

Maybe in a future upgrade they could use the 600-series format their introduced with the One and fill in the top row with their amps (2x mono or 1x stereo).

Still looking forward to the new stuff that will come out next year
