growing up a stone’s throw from Cov, 2-Tone was the sound of my childhood… it was our movement, our thing…even as a 10 year old we were donning Harrington jackets & Sta Press trousers. And Terry was very much the face & the sound of that. A mix of hope & unity but also righteous anger & indignation. Rest in Power
I was only just getting over Manuel Göttsching’s passing. Completely different musical genres, but both a big influence.
What a political / cultural legacy Terry leaves though!
Such sad news. Specials were a huge part of my growing up, at the time I wore a hole in their first album. RIP Terry, a true one off.
