RIP Nik Turner of Hawkwind

An actual legend.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Nik Turner - The Might Thunder Rider, who passed away peacefully at home on Thursday evening. He has moved onto the next phase of his Cosmic Journey, guided by the love of his family, friends and fans.

Wow,end of an era to be sure………strangely enough was for some reason inspired early this morning to play a lot of improvised (the only way I know)) saxophone………def a massive inspiration!!! Feel a little lonely now x

Simon House, former keyboardist and violinist for Hawkwind and member of David Bowie ’s live band, has died, aged 76. The news was broken by his daughter Holly on Sunday (25 May).

For those who like space noodlings, this YouTube channel is an exhaustive collection of pretty much every Hawkwind show, outtake, spin-off or output by pretty much everyone ever associated with the band. Some of it as you’d expect astonishing - eg the Robert Calvert solo stuff; other stuff more…interesting; all of it pretty much unavailable anywhere else. Worth digging into.
