hello I use this: âWaking Up: Meditation & Wisdom in de App Store
But is not for free. You can ask for a scholarship to get it for free or a discount, i paid about 60 euroâs for it tru the scholarship.
I got to know this app through nick cave, i went to a performance with a q&a and him only performing⌠Someone asked him about meditating and he mentioned Sam Harris and this app.
What i like is the down to earth approach, but what i like most is the voice of sam harris iâm very sound sensitive, i cannot listen to guided meditations when the voice sounds not nice in my earsâŚsam harris voice calms me down
Hah, thank you! I have tried to use those apps but I more want to chat with someone IRL to give me tips over âguidedâ voices in an app
Voices I suppose have a countereffect in that they are distracting, which is funny because I donât have an issue with trance states or hypnosis otherwise, but thatâs generally contextual.
Ok thx for explaining i donât know if i understand correctly, but maybe this can be usefull, i only read about it, never tried it
Anybody watch David Lynchâs masterclass on The Art of Life? Pretty inspiring
Def. want to see it , searching now where it is available
Here, but you have to go on YTâŚ
Wow thx
For anyone with a lot of money in their pocket there is a rather extensive auction being held of some of Mr. Lynchâs personal possessions including some production equipment, books, musical instruments, drum kit, espresso machine, cameras, etc.
Some rather historic items are part of this collection, and the early bidding makes it look like itâs going to be a doozy.
RIP and thanks for all the good ones. I hope that whoever scores your Mr. Coffee brand coffee maker (current bid $500USD) enjoys a nice hot cup of joe every morning with you in mind.
that Emulator III tho . . .
I love that there are Sony A7 cameras with lensbabies.
Edit: just browsing through the auction confirms that Lynch was 100% the real deal.
Yeah, itâs all choice goods. Even the kitsch is real, bonafide factory stamped kitsch.
Iâm delighted to learn that David Lynch owned and played a Parker Fly with a midi pickup-
- and this is absolutely charming:
In Lynchâs 2013 documentary on the making of The Big Dream, Lynch seems electrified as he describes his love of the guitar: âI started playing guitar only because one was there, and I wanted to see what sound effects I could make on it. But in making sound effects with the guitar, a deep thrill went into me, down into my soul. I loved working that thing.â
Lynch played guitar in a highly unconventional manner. With the guitar seated in his lap in a left-handed position and tuned to an open tuning, he would tap and swipe at the neck while actuating the vibrato arm with his left hand. When paired with the Roland GK-2 pickup installed on the Parker Fly, David used the VG-8 to change chords as he strummed the strings near the nut using his right hand. When powered on, the unit boots into a setting called DAV50, with the four numbered pedals cycling through A, F#mi, E, and D chords. Setting DAV50 is a clean guitar sound with a pulsing, Fender-like tremolo effect which is, in a word, perfectly Lynchian. The VG-8EX contains numerous other DAV50 user patches for different musical keys including F, E, D, Dmi, and Ab, and more.
All this makes me kind of sad. Not here to judge lynchâs family choices but⌠Well in my humble opinion all this should mostly go to a museum instead of being spread all around.
I think there is so much stuff (in particular furniture) that you could fill several museums with it. Better to sell it to someone than to throw it into the garbage in the end.
Same. Itâs depressingly morbid.
it sounds like these auction items are just the stuff that was never intended to be in a permanent installation anyway. hopefully they find a spot in LA for the crown jewels
Yeah, have people gone through it all? Thereâs a lot of crap, TBH.
The workshop stuff is cool if youâre in the area, but itâll probably go for more than the same old saws on craigslist.
There was an AliExpress megaphone going for $900+ when I checked right after, the Lynch family doesnât need âDavid Lynchâ model speakers or chairs etc.
Thereâs some fun ephemera but this stuff isnât museum quality unless youâre talking about grabbing some gift-painting for some restaurant/bar tchotchke wall of collectibles.
https://www.juliensauctions.com/en/items/1426191/david-lynch-danny-ferrington-custom-five-neck-console-guitar-designed-and-studio-played-by-david-lyn did tempt me when it was closer to $500 though!
