RIP: David Lynch

Just read he sadly passed away at 78.

Huge fan of his films and choice of soundtracks / scores and of course he was also a musician himself.

Lost Highway, Twin Peaks and many more are gonna have to get a run out

Goodbye to a true master. His body of work will live on forever.

I hope he and Angelo Badalmenti jamming together at the Rhodes, sipping on the best espresso.

Damn. RIP to a huge inspiration. Will miss hearing his voice on the radio here in LA. He chose a heckuva time to go.

Lynch was how my first college friends all bonded together.

One of the guys set up Mulholland Drive on a commons area TV, and we were hooked. We would sing “I’ve Told Ev’ry Little Star” together on the way to the dining hall. We dressed up as Twin Peaks characters for Halloween. Another friend told us how his mom auditioned to do sound design for Twin Peaks (she ultimately didn’t get the job, but Lynch seemed to like her).

He was a thoughtful weirdo and a genuine artist. Hope he meets some friends wherever he’s going

Oh, and here’s one of my favorite Lynch stories:

aww man. started my Lynch journey with Elephant Man and was along for the ride with pretty much everything he ever did. not always an easy path but worth sticking through all the difficult moments to get to the transcendent ones.

An absolute original, and his work has affected me greatly over the years and no doubt will continue to do so.

Twin Peaks and his movies are a yardstick against which I measured everything else.

I fondly remember seeing Mulholland Drive at the cinema when it came out, for some reason there was an 11am session on a Tuesday that I went to. Turns out that was a popular slot for pensioners to see movies too, was cheaper then I think, “tight arse Tuesdays as it was known”.

I remember seeing a lot of very confused old people in the lobby afterwards, a weird and wonderful sight worthy of Lynch himself, almost.

You remind me of a Mexican Chi wow wow Coop…

I recently rewatched the whole of twin peaks, 30 years after the first time. RIP Mr Lynch.

Very sad news, was always hoping for something new, Twin Peaks mk3 perhaps.

A wonderful filmmaker who is one of the ones who made movies that crept under my skin, made me think about them for weeks after I had seen them. So many enjoyable rewatches.

Always respected his work and ideas, even when I found them silly.

Might have to throw on another run through of twin peaks in his honour, rip, you fucking massive haired weirdo
