He’s already offering 2 firmwares, and since the packaging doesn’t seem to mention kemper, I guess he has others in mind. I’m not a pedal geek, but I can already think of a couple of pedals that have a bank of presets, but no display.
Although, it appears to rely, at present, on pedals that have a usb-A port, which will limit it.
But it was the novelty that made me post this, not the utility or an assessment of commercial viability.
This fills a huge gap for the Kemper Player, the missing display.
Bonus is that it adds 2 buttons (enabling 5 actions via press, hold, and combo press), a gig timer, and the ability to send (some) midi to the Kemper via bluetooth (another face palm gap on the Player which has BLE for audio but not midi).
Curiously the BLE midi passthough supports PC and SYSEX, but not CC. And it looks like the Kemper needs to be set to channel 1 (but sysex does not use channels).
Display of Bank (and rig) number would be a nice addition.
Retrokits replied that Midi CC is supported by the bluetooth proxy (both to and from the Kemper).
