Require a Lighting Solution for Live PA

Played a gig last week and realised that I need a good lighting solution as I could not see the controls of my mixer, minitaur, and, DE’s and was using a flashlight in one hand to see this limiting my control on the hardware… I have a A&H Zed 14 mixer and try’d to rig a USB desk light from it but the USB port does not provide power…

Also thought of a head lamp like Orbital but i don’t want people to think I want to be them or the head lamp is my trade mark or something as wearing a mask or some shit on your head is envogue these days… I just need something that is portable and not too bright and can preferably clamp on to something… Maybe I should browse the Ikea catalogue for something…

I use 1pound battery powered xmas lights for my stopmotion-disco’s
but hmmm. if they can fake “a disco” i am sure they can light up your machine.
most of them are led-based… so they dont eat batteries for breakfast…

I have couple small book lights with flexible necks that I carry just in case. They can clip on anything or stand on their own if need be.

Yeah, that would look more professional and less campy…
thumbs up on that one

+2 on that cheap-ish solution

peace

3 of those clip on book lites may do… Will check WalMart or the dollar store…

Just ordered this from Amazon… Hope this will work… It is usb powered and takes 4AA batteries… $18 shipped…

ecieved the light and with just a short demo of it with my studio lights off it works great on all 3 light settings… I am using batteries for now so can’t comment on longevity but I think I have an old 5v cell phone charger around that i can power it with… Only thing I may try to change is the tension of the spring for the clamp mechanism…

Overall a good light for gigging and this make life easier when i play next in fact I may just use it in the studio with the lights off to get use to playing with low light…

I usually pack one of these just in case: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10214213/#/00169635

have anyone tried this one?
