Replicate my favorite Korg Mono/Poly trick?

Hi there !

Long time no post, glad to be back…thanks to the A4 upgrade !
So what i love doing on my Korg Mono/Poly is to have an arpeggio going in circles through the 4 voices, but, changing the voices’ octaves on the fly. That’s so much fun !
Well i am not in front of my A4 but i always have ideas when i’m far from my gear.
The circling functionality should be doable by setting ‘play track sound’ and ‘rotate’ as voice allocation system. But how would you do the ‘coarse pitch’ (octaving) ?

Thanks !

Push+turn a knob would do 12 ST steps, but it’s a bit risky while performing live.

Use transpose. You could also assign a square wave to the pitch of oscs 1 and 2 and set the depth. That with transpose should do it.

Thanks but i don’t think you get it :
i mean, live, being able to transpose each ‘voice’ (a step of the arpeggio) separately.
And also to access to -24, -12, +12 and +24 with a different knob for each voice. Do you own a Mono/Poly ?

As nedavine said above transpose can be set per track - so if you just wanna transpose some or all of the voices live it’s easy - transpose function is better than knobs it’s bang on accurate

Oh I see - you wanna do per step - so a performance macro for each track will work though as said above it’s not very accurate but could still be fun

Perf A - track 1 - OSC12 pitch bipolar 12 (or 24)
Perf B - track 2 - OSC12 pitch bipolar 12 (or 24)
Etc
Etc

You get set up two rows (8 macros) - one for 12 and one for 24 - that way a full ‘push twist’ either way gives you better accuracy.

You could also set up macros to affect multiple tracks at once with one knob and different values - so one twist could simultaneously transpose some voices up and down by different amounts - could be interesting…

i think this should work !! thank you very much !

if you have a an OT you can p-lock the Performance Macro…using also LFO designer…niiiiiice!!!

Yep i do, but i want to do this live, while playing via a MIDI input. And i don’t plan to bring to OT on stage. Thanks for the suggestion !
