I bought a Syntakt on eBay for a good price of £500 (they’re generally closer to £600) but it arrived with the plastic of the screen cracked, the screen itself is fine. Frustratingly the seller put the PSU above the device instead of in the compartment designed for it.
As I got it for a decent price I’m considering negotiating a partial refund, but is this piece easily repairable? Do I need an entire new screen or top case to fix this? Any pointers on how much this is worth with the cracked screen?
That’s a piece of plastic that’s stuck to the top of the case, not part of the screen itself. The lettering is probably printed on the plastic so you’ll lose that if you put something else in there.
It’s impossible to repair the crack but you could email Elektron and ask about getting a replacement. They’re quite good at sending parts. If they quote you for a replacement then get at least that much refund.
Tell the seller that you’re going to ask them about that.
