Reliq Matrix Mixer

Interessting thought :+1:.

OK- I just paid my $50…

I haven’t done this since Osmose but that worked out very well for me so fingers crossed this is just as good!

serious question: does it have song mode?

I think so looking at the full feature list on the Discord Server for what will be ready on release:

Song and Performance Modes
Trigger DAW clips, Sequencer Clips and Matrix routings from a single button
Create custom macros for optimal performance workflows
Custom Encoder offset parameter macros
Linear song mode based on clips, routings, modulation slots and DAW actions.

thank you! this looks extremely interesting (i was looking into Cirklon, but still love the Novation Circuit workflow) …

I’d be purely interested in using it as a sequencer to build songs with my hardware synths (midi)

It defiantly looks like it could be the ‘centre’ of any hardware based studio…25 in/out matrix mixer, powerful sequencer, 3 x midi out, 32 CV out!

Quite interested in how this turns out, quite a discount for early birds but that kind of makes me all the more cautious. Do these guys have any sort of track record in producing hardware? Seems kind of insanely ambitious for a companies first product. Look forward to seeing people’s impressions of it. Hope it lives up to what people want.

Yep, agree 100% with that assessment. No way I’m touching a pre-sale on an item like this before it’s out in the wild with some reviews.

I did for the OXI one and Osmose…both had great early bird prices Andor delivery exceeded my expectations! Of course there is some risk, but I feel good about this one, it’s been under development a long time. Fingers crossed!

I don’t know about that, but they give a very professional und knowledgeable impression on Discord an answer all asked questions in great detail.

Yes, the project seem very ambitious. A sort of Egg-laying jack of all trades.

I think the stated March/April 2024 delivery timeline is a bit overly ambitious. As I understand it, at present they only have a working prototype.

Thinking about the duration of the Indiegogo campaign, the two weeks it takes for funds to transfer after the campaign, manufacturing tooling, the current state of the electronics parts and manufacturing supply chain, the approaching holiday seasons that will affect supply chain (Thanks giving in the US, December holidays worldwide, Chinese New Year in Feb, etc)

I’m no manufacturing and logistics expert, but a March/April delivery seems very unlikely.

What’s the reference to $50? Did I miss something? I think I paid $1 back in May…

They bumped up the deposit at some point. A friend signed up a few weeks ago and also had to drop $50.

On INDIGOGO the estimated Shipping for the Early Bird Offer is due for May 2024.

The feature list looks amazing. The device itself looks very nice. I love, love! the idea of a matrix mixer (EDIT: more like router, yeah, but still…) merged into a hardware sequencer.

It’s just I feel a little burnt by Hapax. And I kind of trusted them because of the Pyramid. Hapax is great, but is still missing features promised at launch (full MPE editing for one) and bugs are taking quite long to be fixed. Doing this right is no small endeavour. The early bird discount for Reliq is tempting for sure, but to me it seems too great a risk tbh. Not knowing anything about this company or the people behind it. I have no idea about the pricing of sponsored posts on insta, but they’ve been showing up all the time in my feed for months now. Gives me pause for some reason. I also totally dislike that you have to pay $1 (or $50 now) and give them all your personal data to get access to real information about the product in the shape of a discord channel. Very uncool. Maybe that’s just my personal thing(?). I do hope this turns into a successful product.

  • The matrix mixer is more of a matrix router. You can set the gain of each input and output, but cannot send different amounts to different outputs. It’s like a XPatch32 at a cheaper price point.
  • Shipping is not included. That’s an extra 25€-40€ in the EU. which is reasonable
  • VAT is not included! In Europe that means an extra ~20% on top of the price shown…
  • On the risk involved when buying from a group of people who have never done hardware before. As mentioned earlier, there are exceptions, like the Oxi One, but there are also experienced manufacturers who have delivered poor products after a crowd funding campaign, like Roli. We have to roll the dices. The product at Superbooth looked well made.

Or didn’t deliver them, like birdkids (well, they delivered some tbf).

Anyway, it sounds like an overly ambitious project, it’s hard to do a sequencer right.

Extremely interested in this, but I’ll wait for user reviews and the inevitable secondhand units from early adopters who didn’t click with it. Way too much money to risk on people with no proven track record of delivering hardware.

I was going by the faq on their Discord. May is still pretty tight though.
