Recording buffer, rate issue during playback?

hi,

I’ve run into a weird problem in my OT… I’m sampling a sequence from a modular… i’ve tried manually sampling and w rec trigs and have had the same result… the issue is the phrase gets sampled in but then when playback is tiggered from a play back trig in the flex machine… it seems to be playing slightly slower than the original sound… I can verify this because I still have the sequence running through the DIR input…

the really weird part is if I save the sample to a static slot and then use a play back trig its all fine, plays totally in time exactly as sampled…

my question is, is there some global rate setting for the flex machine i accidentally tweaked? or is it a RAM issue?

its really frustrating… any ideas would be much appreciated

thanks!

pitch and rate settings of the flex playback page? 0 and +64, respectively? (pitch does not matter if you have timestretch: on, but playback rate always does)

second idea, maybe you p-locked your flex playback trig?

I dont think I P-locked it… I’ve erased and rewrote the playback trig a couple times

I’ll check the flex playback page but i dont think thats it unless it can be set to a particular setting by default?

just an aside i had a similar issue with a sample that i loaded from my computer

like it wasnt wrong when i first loaded the sample into a flex machine… just one time when i played it was off time, then i couldnt figure out how to get it back… then when i changed the track to a static machine and loaded the sample into a static slot, it all worked fine??

Does the recorded sample play slower at original pitch or is the pitch lower?

it might be slightly slower pitch wise… the whole thing kind of drifts slow… if that makes sense?

2 likely scenarios:

1 Timestretch: off. Pitch or rate on playback page is not set to default.

2 ts: on. Rate on pb page is not at default, maximum value.

Also look at the tempo of the sample in the sample attributes page… Should be the same as master tempo.

timestretch is definitely on… that was my first thought too… I also doubled checked the tempo, it matched the master… I didnt think of rate setting till doing some research this morning but I’ll have to wait till i get back from work to test… I hope its that simple!

ok so I just checked it… rate is set to default (max) and timestretch is on…

I also tried it on another track just to see if it was something i did in the first track… no dice, same problem… I"m going to upgrade to 1.25e see if it does anything…

ok i think that it was something to do w the rate knob… thanks for people that helped out… case closed :+1:
