Recording buffer for different banks

Ok, here is something I just can’t find any workaround for: I have a project which is my entire set for the show. Each bank is an individual song. Let’s say TR 5 is always my recording channel (flex machine!) to loop vocals or guitar or whatever. I always have a sample trigger prepared on the one so that the new recording will playback right away.
If I change the “song” meaning the bank and I activate TR 5 I have the sample from my last bank automatically assigned - this is of course very bad cause many times I am in a different key and there is no musical connection…

So my question is: Is there a way to clear the recording buffer for a track before going on with the next bank/song?

Either this is total beginner stuff or very complicated

Thanks for any tipps
L.

I’m watching this space too because I’d like to be able to quickly erase the pickup buffers, it’s too convoluted as it stands

From memory if you have a play trig and rec trig on the same track the play happens first (even at same time) so a fix was to microtime nudge the record just before the play, a little unsatisfactory, but worth a thought

Uh, well I don’t know if I understood this  I will try it…

From the beginner point of view, according to the manual (page 49):

Pressing [FUNCTION] + [PLAY] while inside the RECORDING SETUP menus will clear the recorder buffer of the active track recorder from any audio content. GRID RECORDING mode needs to be inactive for this to function.

From the advanced point of view, avantronica’s method described above of putting the recording trig slightly ahead of the playback trig will ensure that when you switch to the new pattern, the OT will begin recording whatever the recording buffer is sampling and will not play back what was previously in the recording buffer. That may or may not be what you want. If not, you might consider whether adjusting the QPL setting would help.

Oh, now I got it!

that’s really helpful. And thanks for this more detailed explanation…
