I noticed there is an Upload Here option in the Sample Browser. 2 question:

  • Does anyone know what that does?
  • and is there anyway to set the directory that DT records into? That would be amazingly helpful…

That Upload Here is for when you transfer samples from your computer.

For samples you make yourself, it creates a file folder with a date on it.

Can you elaborate on the folder it creates with a date on it… does that have to do with recording onto the digitakt? My samples get incremented numerically and added the the general recordings folder…

  1. Upload is for backing up your samples from Digitakt to the computer.
  2. no, you cant change the destination folder for recordings and frankly I don’t see much of a point to do that.

Depends on your work flow. I often record quite a bit of material per session and my recorded folder gets pretty unorganized, pretty fast. I try my best to name things appropriately but sometimes you dont want to spend your creative phase naming dozens of samples and would rather focus on gathering material, ideas, and momentum.

So if i could specify a folder that i record a certain synth into, or a date for a new projects samples, it would streamline the process of naming and moving files and keep things more organized from the get go. Just wonderin if there was a way to do it.

a folder for each project would make alot more sense that a folder with all recordings to trawl thru every time i wanna find a sound, esspecially newly recorded stuff i wanna dump straight to a project but not to a button/track
