Record chords in Chromatic mode

A quick question:

I’m using the OT trigs in chromatic mode to enter midi notes triggering my Nord Lead.

Sometimes it records chords, other times the chord records as a single note.

What’s the best way to record a chord?

It may be simplest to p-lock, but in terms of ‘recording’

I agree it’s hit and miss, you will get better results if you slow the tempo right down and may also have better luck if you use an external keyboard

But yeah, at a moderate pace you’ll be very lucky to record the chords you think you’re entering … a consequence of the step recording approach and possibly how the info is handled in the OT

Thanks, I try it at a slower tempo

I was wondering if having quantisation set on live recording would help, I’d have to give it a go.

yeah, you may get some better luck if you toggle quantization to record ‘free’ and fix it back afterwards … sounds like it could possibly help, worth a try, I think external input will be better intuitively too

Don’t have OT to hand at the mo, will try these things out. Not really tried all this stuff even after 18 months of using my OT!
