Record a track from xenyx1002B

Hi,

I’m trying to record a track from my xenyx1002B and i wonder what output i must choose.

The Main output (L & R jack) or phones.
Is there one better than the other (regarding quality) ?

I use the tape out to record with my 1002B. I wouldn’t use headphone jack for recording and I use the main outs for my monitors. Main outs sound better than the headphone out to me.

Is this the output that you use ?
Do you record on tapes ?

That is the output I use to record. . Sometimes I record to tape but mostly I record to a tascam digital recorder through it.

It makes sense, specially in a live session because main outputs are already used.
