Rebalancing audio

So I’m currently working with a bunch of old stuff where I don’t always have the multitracks. In some cases, having the drums far too loud makes it completely unusable. Trying to eq it isn’t getting satisfactory results either.

Tried the demo of izotope rx - the rebalancer module does exactly what I want and sounds fabulous but is kinda pricey.

I don’t suppose anyone knows of any affordable options? Also tried the Blue Labs one, but for whatever reason I haven’t had any success with getting it to work smoothly on my system.

*whispering*

Well, if you don’t want to aknowledge that subtle whisper, I don’t think there really are any alternatives at the moment. Izotope routinely have sales for their plugins though, might be worth signing up for their newsletter, and maybe pluginboutique so you’re in the loop.

Hadn’t got around to responding to it. But let’s just say it’s not my cup of tea.

RX7 is actually on sale at the moment but it’s still out of my price range. Yah, my inbox gets bombarded with their newsletter e . v . e . r . y . s . i . n . g . l . e . d . a . y . Was hoping there’s some small developer out there that’s made a specific tool for that one thing and is selling it for cheaper so I wouldn’t need to purchase entire rx suite as good as it is. Not to worry though, if nothing else turns up I’ll prolly just purchase it at some some point (likely next year). Got plenty of other things I could be working on in the meantime.

Also kinda tempted to cut things up into 30second blocks and record the output into a different computer to get past the trial restrictions.

Be a shame if there’s nothing else out there. Seems like it’d be perfect for any 'nauts who want to tidy up their hardware jams.

I use izotope rx 7 at work for restoration at times. That software is just sick! Nothing else quite like it AFAIK. i’ve been hoping for good discounts on the rx, but somehow izotope only wants punters to use neutron and ozone, since all the no-brainer deals offer only those

Havent found anything that can do mix rebalancing and spectral editing like rx. Their algos and tech is very advanced.

Yeah, they seem a bit more eager to push neutron and ozone. I’ve got the elements version of RX, bought it dirt cheap. Seems like a good way to get a cheaper upgrade at some point.
