Dang dude nice find, i logged in on both. Had them on my old iphone way back.
Now im at 48 points, dammit! So cloes to that 50 haha
Upgrading to 13.1 has had me playing with Reason again a lot more- those new tools 9especilay Random) make a real difference- finding new uses for my old favourites like Grains.
I bought the Reason 13 update from a 3rd party with a coupon discount and then used all those rewards points so I ultimately got…
Reason 13, Objekt, Friktion, BV-X Vocoder and Pattern Mutator for the sum total of about £71.
I’m pretty pleased with that! That’s a lot of new toys for 70 quid!
As I’m rediscovering Reason and it’s rack extensions, you all need to download this absolute gem:
WBL4014 | Multitrigger | Shop | Reason Studios
This is hands down the best creative sequencer for any DAW that I’ve ever used. And it’s free!
Also don’t miss out on all the kHs pluggins which are also free!
Thanks for the tip- I cant believe all the Khs plugs rack extensions are now free! Pity now download all button!
This is my favourite Reason sequencer- very Electronlike workflow now with ‘conditions’
RB Sequences is the king for sure
Cool I will check it out!
I ended up getting pattern mutator or what it was called, im kinda happy to be back with Reason, its something about it that makes me creative
Yeh, came back for the instruments bought in sale, remembered how fast and easy the sequencer was to work with (especially with the few new tweaks, they do make a difference)
Uh, oh! Can the pitch be sent out to CV in the back? Is it scaled for frequency (i.e. 0 = 20Hz, 1 = 20kHz)? If so, it could be used to build a pitch tracked dynamic EQ, for example to accentuate a fundamental of a signal and to cut down e.g. 2nd harmonic?!
(sorry, can’t test - stuck at work 1st day after Christmas )
@antic604 looks promising…
On a similar note, try using BeatMap player - if needed, followed by Scales & Chords in filter mode - to drive basslines or 303. Works surprisingly great!
It shows how much those Rack Plugin YouTube “influencers” care about the product, when literally half of them have not updated their plugin when it clearly asks them to
Oh, and good old Dash’ Cubase days
A blast from the past: Reason Studios just re-released ReCycle 2.5 as a free download! ReCycle for free | Reason Studios
I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks like it’s not just a simple “here’s the installer from 2005, good luck.” Judging by the screenshots, they appear to have ported it to modern operating systems.
I used Dr. Rex now and then in Reason, but I never actually used ReCycle. It will be interesting to see how the workflow holds up.
Yes I confirm it works on Mac ARM
and Windows ARM
I was always gutted I couldn’t gel with Reason, it’s so close to what I want from a DAW but every time I’ve bought it I’ve never quite managed to click with it. I do hope they continue as more competition is always a good thing. Will be grabbing Recycle though, that’s been a paid thing forever.
What I never understood with Recycle is why they didn’t through some basic audio editor tools / functionalities and a batch process to automate some loop conversion to rex. it would have been more successful to me instead solely focus on only one rex files at a time.
Like :
- copy paste to a new file
- export all slices as a sampler program
- export all slices as oneshots samples
- Fade-in, Fade-out…
- Batch convert Loop to Rex files
- Batch convert Rex files to Apple Loop
- Maybe some spectral tools in the way of Accusonus Regroover. (which nothing replace for now to me)
I would have make it better and still sell it, instead of making it free and not adding on the capabilities. But Free is usually cool, isn’t it
Not all loops are the same so I get why they wouldn’t want to just do batch processing… the point with it and what set it apart was that it had a mechanism with which you could tweak the slice points just right so you could work with it not just at some slices on a bunch of files that who knows if they’ll work once imported into the device that’ll play them… no?
Not just. But and…
(batch process was a tiny part of my post initially)
Anyway, it could do more than just handle one rex file (to my point of view so I would use it very more instead having an audio editor in addition to recycle)
Reason and Recycle could be connected. > Send to Dr. Rex
Thanks Recycle. (something like that)
Anyway Recycle was long overdue, it’s here, it’s free… it’s cool. I paid it 99euros but hey that’s life
