I feel like those desperately need a controller attached to be able to get the most of them because pressing + and - hundreds of time to make modifications is going to get old fast.
They should of done the teenage engineering trick of holding the + so it sweeps the frequency at roughly the right speed.
Hitting steps multiple times for filter would drive me potty.
I posted in the crowdfunding thread on these two being active and available now on Kickstarter.
It has occurred to me that given they are open source, and that they are so similar, that it is likely possible to modify the code slightly and run that code on the other device. In particular, running the Drumboy code ( modified ) on the Synthgirl hardware, since the Synthgirl has a few more buttons right bellow the screen.
Almost certainly you would not be able to create software with both codes together, though having both sources would likely be of assistance for anyone considering more freehand modifications.
( I don’t know, a drum synth with wavetable drum sounds ?? )
The devices themselves look great and interesting. The problem here, for me, is the terrible interface. As a dyslexic person, I simply can’t read what’s displayed on the screen. This device requires a completely different graphic solution, and it seems to me that the simplest solution would be a tracker interface.
