Domino’s in Japan had an American pizza and let’s just say it was something else.

Bayless’ Mexican Everyday is one of the few books I’ve physically worn out. It split in half around page 200. The chard tacos are a great idea. Also people should watch City of Gold if they wanna know about Jonathan Gold.

But this is a ramen thread, so…

Not much to do, presuming you know how to boil water.

BTW: She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed claims she can boil water perfectly well. Thank god for microwaves.

So a couple of tips:

  1. If you can avoid Top Ramen and Maruchan, please do so. If you can get to an Asian market to get the Japanese or Korean branded stuff you will be surprised at how much better tasting the noodles are. If you can even get up to the Sapporo Ichiban level it’s a start. A Korean brand that’s making inroads in mainstream grocery stores is Nongshim.

  2. Keep a supply of vegetables that you like in the fridge, pre-chopped, even.

  3. You can get those frozen pot stickers at pretty much any supermarket these days. Keep a large bag. Some have an Asian food section with the other refrigerated stuff and you can get fish cake or fish balls, tofu and kimchi.

  4. When you boil your water for the noodles throw in the soup package (or make your own broth - I’ll give you some shortcut recipes later). Cook your vegetables and potstickers (just throw them in frozen and boil for 3-4 minutes until you’re sure they’re cooked through).

  5. You can boil the noodles separately or toss them into the pot with everything else and simmer til all is cooked.

It’s all improv. So there’s no right or wrong thing to put in there to dress up your ramen. I’d also invest in a few different hot sauces. You can also top it with a few strips of seaweed or fried onions. Anything goes.

I’m not sure if I’m comfortable with how you’re infesting the ramen discussion with your sando porn.

After all, deep fried food stuffed into carbs is a topic that deserves its own thread.

They put fries in burritos in San Diego, right? I went there to eat fresh uni. (Well, I had a conference, but that was just the excuse.)

Told my wife about this thread.
So we
Just ate this….
Absolutely delicious and I’m now struggling to walk. The home/instant ramen can be very good.

:open_mouth:‍:dash:

EDIT: it was also 34 degrees when I ate it. As high as 36 for the third day in a row. First time in June according to the news

I’m a ramen addict. If there’s a ramen I haven’t tried, I’m gonna try it. I also don’t eat anything blue in color, cause nothing in that color is natural….so I’m torn on this….

I just had Korean bbq ramen. Heavy but delicious

Do you know what the broth base is @micabeza?

I’d go all here all the time. It’s dope that it’s open 24 hours, especially for night owls like me.

There is an asian food market close to me, gonna find all the crazy flavours.

All purpose cleaner

It does look like it would have a slight mentholyptus taste.
