This looks slightly different. Launched today. Interesting demos. Very stripped down functionality but also some very cool stuff with the filter and delay and analog kick. Much less boring than previous attempts at drum-machine-in-a-pedal-for-guitarists stuff (beat buddy, sdrum, trio etc). Does make me fancy getting hold of one just to mess around.
That actually sounds really good!
Replying to this again, can’t believe this didn’t garner more interest. It’s a super unique pedal which also functions as a CV-controlled drum machine. The design of the way it creates an entire kick/snare/hat combo based off two taps is genius! As a pedalboard backbeat generator it’s super clever and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them going for loads of money in a couple of decades. Does anyone have one?
Your post persuaded me to pull the trigger on it. Grabbing the last day of the Reverb secret January discount code made the new cost bearable… Will report back as soon as it arrives ![]()
Nicely done! I mean obviously it’s pretty limited as a drum machine but it’s a fantastic implementation of a concept. I’d much rather this than one of those BeatBuddy pedals with thousands of backing drum tracks. Run it through some other pedals and you could get all sorts of wild timbres out of those simple sounds.
I see it as a tool for days when I can’t be bothered to dig the Digitakt out. Easy beats for lazy days jamming on my guitar
It’s arrived!
And not at all bad. The sounds are very decent. The hi hat and snare are basically digital white noise (the snare slightly sculptable) but the (apparently analog) bass drum is pretty solid. The filter is VERY nice enabling some sweet as anything sweeping, and the LFO helps provide a bit of variation to sounds as you strum along. The echo is ridiculously in your face going on completely bonkers and although it only affects the snare, it provides for some proper instant-dub sounds if you’re that way inclined. The soft pad is responsive and the tap tempo adjustment is excellent. When in “fill” mode it doesnt do much though - just a bit of white noise which is more confusing than fill-y. Side-chaining is kind of useful. Haven’t tried the cv triggers as (i) I’m lazy; and (ii) this is a sit on the floor next to your other amp and pedals bit of kit surely. But for those that way inclined I bet its fun. Overall, for a smidgin over £200 I’m very pleased with it. Not sure it is quite worth the £275-300 being charged for it new, but its definitely a neat toy/tool.
Lovely! The CV triggers make it useful as a desktop device as well, or as an unusual desktop music companion. ÂŁ200 was a good deal!
