Radikal Technologies - Delta CEP semimodular synth

Thanks for reviving this thread after two years because now, on second look, I’m giving it more attention, particularly due to the morphing. All the features in the world, though, hardly matter if you don’t like the basic sound, for example, my response to the Kijimi—great features, but it never sounds good to me. This Radikal device just has a great basic sound and sonic range so that I think the price is appropriate for what you get. I don’t know if and when I’d have space for it, but I’ve put it on my wish list.

Every video I see of this sounds phenomenal, with most of the downsides being the high price. I see some used ones at 800 now, that seems like a great deal. I basically never hear this synth talked about, I wonder why? Maybe it’s all the shift functions?

I pulled the trigger on a b-stock for a good price. No idea why these aren’t talked about more. Amazing sound, super versatile and fun to tweak!

I had a look at several videos and the thing that did not convince me was the amounts and multi functions

In the end I went for the Lifeforms SV1 b

Let me know how you find it

I sold mine because of the limited modulation options and the fact that it is not possible to tweak the synth parameters while utilizing the morph options (via cv mod you can).
If you take your time to read the manual once after a while the shift commands are not that hard to remember anymore.

The morph options itself and the overall sound are very enjoyable. Had great results synthesizing drum patches were VEL morphes between snapshots.

IMO it’s a bit complex to handle and we have to go back to the manual, particularly after some time of not using it. This machine has many fantastic functions, but we have to know/remember, how to exploit them.

I use it for ever evolving sounds and pads making use of this true morphing and including the chord functionality of the swarm oscillator. It can be used quite traditionally like every other subtractive synth, though.

I got 1 this weekend, first plays are very impressive. indeed that morph function is a killer function. BUT 1 thing bothers me, in morph mode all the knobs are diabled, so a “look mam no hands” feature.
But maybe i need to get my hands on in more detail, couse i think when ya got clever snaphot, that morph function gives you a patch wich evolves constantly

Never tried this, maybe it’s in the manual somewhere, but it makes sense. In an interview Jörg Schaaf explained that the morphing is done by an algorithm, which changes every parameter in a most musical logical way. If we add manually to this … well … makes things propably more complicated …

That’s exactly, what I think as well. For evolving pads it’s even better to use two or three snap shots only, which are distributed in equal spaces over the range of snap shot slots. Automation of morphing with external sources allows us quite complex movements between snap shots.

Wondering if anyone use Delta CEP with Moog DFAM? Do they understand each other well? How well quantiser works if sequenced from Moogs sequencers? Is CEP really useful in cv/gate environment without midi?

I’ve never used them together (don’t have a dfam anymore) but boy do I love this synth. Really special machine.

Think so as well… almost all came from Jorg was and still is special (sill have Polymorph and Spectralis he developed ).

Going to get CEP asap…

Any more details about CEP to increase my enthusiasm? : )

Just have to chime in here and say I also really enjoy this machine…the sound is very, very nice. Just got a Matriarch so will be connecting them in different ways and need to really learn both of them but the Delta is a super nice sounding synth.
