Is anyone using these products yet? I have really been a big fan of the Behringer x32 digital mixer but it has been very much out of my price range. The scene mode and routing abilities are what really make me interested in this. So with the new X Air products it looks like I can do something similar to the x32 but for $1800 less.
Here is my goal with this gear. The X18/XR18 has 18 inputs and 6 aux outputs. I will fill the 18 inputs. The 6 aux outputs I want to use as efx sends but unlike the big x32 there are no return inputs, I would need to use the inputs provided. So I was thinking pair this up with an XR12 which will add 2 extra aux’s and 12 extra inputs. So eight inputs would be used for efx returns and it leave me with four channels for future expansion.
Now I know you can link these modules by CAT5 cable and control them both through my Android tablet. So the questions are how do both mixers show up in the Android app? Can the channels be mixed on the interface to make them look like one mixer? So basically how would this setup work? I have my Machinedrum which I want to route the main outs through my KaossPad. So I assign inputs 1 and 2 on the X18 as a stereo pair for the Machinedrum. Then I make Aux 1 and 2 on the X18 as my sends. Then inputs 5 and 6 on the X12 I make as my returns.
Since the two mixers are linked together, will the Android interface allow me to route the above configuration as I would like?
