Question about Octatrack MK2 and Midi sequencing

Hi I hope i can find an answer here.

I’m want to use the octatrack MK2 also to sequence my Tanzbar. I got it setup and it works but it only sends the midi notes when i press the play button. So i first have to enter a pattern and press the play button in order to listen to my Tanzbar.
I basically can’t pre-listen the tanzbar by just pushing a triggers button. To pre-listen i need to set the Trigger mode to Chromatic.

I hope this is clear , it’s a bit hard to explane.
I also have the Digitakt and there it does work by just pressing a track-button

The different modes control how the trig keys work on the OT, if you want to send midi notes from the trig keys while on a midi track, you need to be in chromatic mode as you have found. You could attach a midi keyboard or pads and play from that while in any OT mode…

Thank you for the explanation. I didn’t find anything in the manual about it so i thought i give it a try…
