I get some noise. Not that big of a deal when actually, well, producing some sound from the unit.
Agreed. Its not biggest deal, just wanted to make sure I didn’t receive a lemon.
Excuse me Elektronauts, if thats sounds arrogant, but im actually willing to bet that the noise is normal for Push 3, and its caused by design, not by manufacturing errors. Just not everyone pays attention to that, or uses headphones that pronounce that sound.
Could be some kind of ground loop that occurs when the charger is plugged, no?
I’ve not noticed a noise issue at all. On power or on battery.
If I used just Beyerdynamic 770 80ohm I would never noticed that sound.
My sneaky suspicion is that that this it somehow related to the intel processing unit because the sound is similar to the laptop headphone jack with intel chip.
Another thing - the sound is probably always there, but after hooking up Push to the charger it becomes audible to the human ear.
Have you contacted their support? Seems a weird omission really.
I get that too, only when plugged in, will try some of my beefier headphones later today to see if it still noticeable.
I have one question that is very important for me to know, before buying the Push3 standalone. Helping me answer this question would be very helpful for me.
How is the timing, using multiple external instruments over USB? For example the Rytm MK2 or other Elektron Gear and some Synths. Is it always spot on? Is it tight or is it Jittery?
Normally the timecode is not stable enough for me in Ableton and I use an Usamo expert Sleepers Box for a stable time code. As this Usamo box works with a vst plugin, it will not work with the standalone Version of the Push3. Therefore the Standalone box needs a tight midi Signal for me to be able to use it in a liveset on stage in combination with my other gear. (Rytm Mk2, Novation Peak, Hydrasynth, Se-02)
Apologies if my question is too much OCD but does your jog wheel has a bit of play upwards?
It’s tricky to explain, but if you pull the top part of jog wheel does it actually move a little?
The video will explain it better -
Im almost sure to buy the controller version because i will rarely take it on road.
Now u get discount on the suite… very tempting. Anyone experience buying push 3 with discounted suite ? Lets say i dont like it and send back the push3 … will they refund me fully for the controller or take the discount off …
I tried to do the same thing as in the video, it does indeed move a tiny amount, but it does not feel flimsy or anything, so I guess it’s supposed to be like that?
Since I have a P3S, for the first time I have been experimenting a little with the built in drum kits. I noticed that some have built in kit specific send effects (didn’t even know that was possible). I figured out how to change the send amounts per drum, but is there a way to edit/change the send fx devices? I can’t find a way…
Just tried ordering a Push 3, but payment declined due to a ‘merchant error’
Far left of the device, click the symbol with 3 dots and lines and some more options show up on that same far left but lower down which you then need to highlight to show up (io, S & R).
Am I the only one thinking that the buttons on this thing are so stiff that they’re quite annoying to press? Such a dramatic contrast to the pads which react to the lightest touch. The buttons on just about any other hardware feels more enjoyable compared to the Push 3 - except maybe for my aging Roland W-30.
Honestly I agree. It can be annoying to use the buttons for an extended period. They’re the stiffest buttons I’ve ever used on anything, it takes about twice as much force as I would expect.
I know it’s essentially ableton in a groovebox, but thought I’d share a track I started on Push 3 standalone this summer as I’m starting to release some of my new experiments now.
Started off with recording chords from my plinky synth directly in.
Added extra synth layers and re sampled loops from Operator
Then breaks, can’t remember drum source files, most likely from ableton pack sounds.
I originally plugged an sm58 in to record scratch vocals but retracked/doubled/comped them on live on the desktop with a better mic with a bit of alter boy/portal fx the high pitch vocals were me sped up and then alter boy’d then chucked back and chopped on push.
Then ran everything through analog heat +fx
I was just about to ask this thread how the buttons on Push 3 feel. I thought the buttons on Push 2 were the worst I’d ever felt. How do they compare?
They’re better. Less spongy, less rubbery, firmer. Still not the best, but a lot better.
They are very similar, except that the P3 feels like the rubber is a bit thicker and sturdier. But the mechanism is similar: you have to press it in the middle and push it quite deep to trigger it
