Push 3 Users Thread

Yes - You get 20% on the standalone atm:

"Only until November 30
Get 20% off Push standalone "

Hehe yup that’s what I meant

You lost me completely now

It was a response to this

But maybe I misunderstood ;D

This I asked myself for quite some months…

Yesterday I bought the controller version

That’s the best thing I heard today

Not mean at all. It’s good to share a more realistic view of stuff like this. Otherwise we’ll get another “E corp is leaving out this and that feature out of this product to make you buy the higher prices one” rhetoric

Is he talking down to people though, or just disagreeing with you?

The forum is really getting a bit heated lately. Unfortunately.

It is a new market for them by the way. He is talking about the standalone version specifically :+1:

A few big topics lately, so not a complete surprise

A heated twist and turn can pass if there’s at least well meaning - what can’t work out is personal digs which has happened just above. Keep it civil folk, thanks in advance

Trying to understand what this does, it’s late here:

That is really cool. That is what SA users have been waiting for. It does seem to part of live 12 so it seems I was wrong about these things becoming available for 11 as well.

Edit: if this works in SA that is. It’s one of the things that’ll be really cool to do.

Cool project and I’m definitely following as a total Max novice to try to understand how I might go about hacking and building custom setups in standalone. Will probably buy just on that basis.

But so far it does seem a bit overcomplicated for just selecting variations and chains, I’m using the linked devices respectively, both of which are working fine in standalone - can’t quite remember if I had to go in and edit live.banks, vaguely recall that I did on the variations one, could be wrong about that.

Don’t really see the point of mapping 16 macros to pads in most cases when you can get them on the pots anyway. Granted, as I was saying earlier on the thread, my solution for selecting chains / variations from the pads was to set up dummy clips but I’m having some weird behaviour there from Live. But I guess that probably wouldn’t work if you’re getting your midi from clips rather than sequencers like I’ve been doing. Either way, good to see someone taking a deep dive on what’s possible, will be trying my best to follow along and try to learn as much as I can.

Anyone know if the P3 can send out midi as a metronome? I am thinking it can’t, want to check with you all.

I noticed that people have had an issue with no packs showing under the “available packs” even though they have a suite license authorized. I am having the same issue is there any work around or are you all just not able to install any packs outside of the core library?

Nm I needed to update the firmware to latest version. It now works as expected.

So I decided in the end to take my push standalone out live today to do a little 1 hour ambient set, was a bit nervous about it because I’m running a beta, but thought as it was a fairly small intimate show, and I had a back up I’d give it a shot.

Actually really pleased, I ended up using it and found a flow in it that surprised me, felt quite different to how I’ve been using it for jamming in the studio. I kept it all very simple, just audio clip launching and mixing really, then running that into an AH+FX for EQ/FX/filtering.

Good things, found the new momentary button presses for clips and mixing really natural way to flick between viewing elapsed waveform views of audio playing and fading parts in and out. By the time I found my flow, I really wasn’t thinking about where things were.

Bad things, I did have one of the waveforms completely disappear on a clip which left me confused and I thought I’d deleted or lost a clip somehow. I’ve had clips freeze or disappear before, luckily it was towards the end of its playback so I just brought the next thing in.

Learnt a lot and found a different headspace using it today, so hopefully I can bring that back into playing and performing in the songwriting process.

Today I tried to make more than 10 rows (scenes) in one project on my standalone but failed. Can I adjust this or is this a max amount of scenes?

I just posted my question, duplicated my 10th scene, and suddenly I was able to use more scenes

Hi. I’m new to push. Previously, and still now as I can’t figure out the routing, I was just playing all my gear by putting the midi from my keystep through the cirklon and it would play whatever synth channel that I had selected. I am trying to replicate this on the push, but no luck. Using USB midi, this works to trigger the cirklon clock, so I know for sure that its hearing the device. I’ve also tried standard midi cables, but it didn’t even recognize it on the push. Anyone here have any thoughts??
