check the links section at the beginning of the thread, most of the time you find even more interesting stuff then what you were looking for in the first place
You know what ? I didn’t even know this feature ! Thanks !!!
you’re welcome

I just got my self a brand spanking new Push 3 (non stand alone) in the door.
Is there a check list of “known issues to look out for”?
I havn’t seen one and a search in this thread turned out empty.
it’s a good deal. I wouldn’t advise anyone just yet to buy a standalone at full price, because there’s still workflow and UI things that need to be done I think to use it truly by itself, for everything. As standalone for live or MPC style jams/MPE instruments on the sofa, I think it’s great. Just hook it up to a computer when you actually want to really dig deep and get inside your tracks. So to that point, and I hope this helps your decision, if you don’t think you’ll be wanting to do live gigs/jams standalone AND it’s primarily going to stay in the same place where you make music, the controller will be fine. Personally I’m still nervous about taking mine out live. I have a gig this weekend I could be putting the whole set on, but I’m actually leaving air at home as I don’t trust it still!
I’ve always wondered, how do people that play live deal with the fragile nature of technology?
Would you bring only your P3 further down the road when it’s more stable?
Or do artists always have a backup laptop with them if every single noise making machine would just instantaneously break down? So that they could at least play some tunes and twist some knobs ![]()
I’ve had my push freeze or crash too many times to be comfortable and it’s ironically always when I’m trying to show someone how good it is!
It’s ridiculous but I’m actually going to use my trusty portable minidisk player I’ve had since the 90’s for playback this weekend.
Sometimes simplest is best
Hehe nice one! Nostalgic.
Yeah I thought about something similar too, to have something like a basic dj set as a backup. To avoid having to stand there in complete silence if all else fails
Why can’t there be a 30% discount (or even 20%) on the controller version?
My guess is, they’ve got stock of the standalone versions, which they need to get rid of before the CPU-guts goes “obsolete” because of new, faster and cheaper guts ie: next generation.
It sounds highly unlikely to me, that they’d replace the cpu within less than a year after release?
It is a guess
But how else to explain this early pricecut only on the Stand alone?
Hehe ok, yeah I don’t have a clue either, but my guess is that the standalone had a bit of a rocky start with some things needing to be ironed out, plus everything with the nuc ”drama”. So this could be a way to get more people hyped for the standalone again. Either way it’s kind of working on me…;D
I was wondering why they couldn’t just give me one for being such a good boy
Haha same
I think they want to push (:p) the standalone sales to give it a flying start, as this is something radically new. The controller version is just an updated version of Push 2. They probably want the standalone to become a “thing” in the world of live performing elektronic musicians. They want it to become something like a golden standard. Like the technics turntables became a standard in vinyl dj’ing, pioneer cdj became a standard in digital mixing and traktor kind of became a standard in digital dj consoles.
That is also a plausible explanation
100%, I think so too!
Or maybe a company just makes an ROI plan and doesn’t want to justify the loss by
offering a discount on a product that has already been substituted with the main sauce (software)
when you want to enter a new market (hardware/hybrid).
The lack of knowledge of how businesser are run nowadys is disturbing.
Guestimating is fun but lacks any base here.
Sorry if someone feels offended, I am just an ex-corporate goon and have seen the
dark side of plain business decisions behind all the wishful thinking why company “w” does “x”, “y” or “z”.
Don’t feel offended at all.
But I’m not following, the standalone is already discounted?
