I can´t connect Push 3 in Standalone with Live 11.3.2 on my PC. Both are in the same Wifi, but if I click on the Push Folder in the Live Browser on my PC the Push 3 is not shown. Authorization was no problem. Am I doing something wrong here?
Also when setting Push 3 to control mode I can control Live just fine, but can´t select it as an audio interface. No f**ing clue why that is. Anyone´s got an idea?
The tools that made this easy, were only compatible until I think version 3 of Konstakt? I can’t remember the exact version number it stopped, but the short answer is that your best bet is using an auto sampler (check Logic) for capturing patches you want and then import those into Live.
The reason for this is because scripting differs widely between Kontakt instruments affecting playback of samples. Despite some pretty deep ready made tools for samples, the scripting engine allows for many different options and these don’t translate 1:1 with an import of samples to another sampler.
Express24 is the ParcelForce service they used for mine last week. So as long as ParcelForce really picked yours up today, rather than just having the details for that parcel entered into their system, you’ll probably get it tomorrow.
I rec’d my Push 3 Standalone this afternoon and started installing packs. It was at 65% charge when I booted it up and updated/licensed everything. Without it plugged into the charger and just downloading/installing the packs I have that battery lasted about an hour and the unit got warm (not hot).
You get almost no warning about battery life by the way if you’re installing things or navigating through menus. The charge/battery icon isn’t visible on many screens - you suddenly get a quick message saying the battery is low (it flashes on the screen for maybe 2-3 seconds) then it immediately shuts down. Good luck with that on stage lol
Ah, OK that’s definitely more extreme than what I’ve seen.
I hate to give the standard tech support response but I’m wondering if a DHCP refresh or full router reboot might be worth trying in this case (but perhaps you’ve already tried this).
Windows or MacOS? I’m on a Mac and it popped up as an audio interface immediately. But I notice that the Ableton Technical FAQ says this about Windows:
" Do I need to download additional drivers on Windows?
The installation of the driver necessary to use Push 3 as an audio interface on Windows is included when installing Live 11.3 on your computer."
So if you’re on Windows perhaps check if you’re running the very latest version of Live – you should be on 11.3.2
I’ve been playing around with a Push 3 controller since Saturday and haven’t had any major problems so far, only some minor UI glitches here and there. USB power is working fine with an M1 MacBook Pro.
That being said, I’m new to Push and haven’t explored everything so far. I haven’t even tried to test the audio interface yet So who knows what’s causing the problems a lot of other people seem to have.
I need help if someone can please check something for me. I cant select a midi output on a drum rack. I want to create a blank drum rack and control an external drum machine. I can select a Midi input channel, but I cant select a midi output channel. The only outputs I can select are audio outputs. This has to be a bug, right?
I might be wrong but don’t you have to load an „external instrument“ in a cell if you want it to send to an instrument outside the drumrack? This lets you choose a midi output per cell in a drumrack
Yes. PSU is the only way I can power my unit unfortunately.
Unfortunately looks like my testing is over though, literally as of this moment my Push 3 won’t connect to Ableton with any USB cable. Tested every spare I had. The supplied cable is dead but now seemingly so is my Push 3 USB-C port. Going to wait to hear from support but considering a return at this point while I still am within the 30 days.
Thanks, that has me on the correct path - maybe you or @Mistercharlie can help me figure out the next step. I can assign each drum pad to a midi channel, but is there a way to have each drum pad assigned to the same midi channel, but differentiate each drum pad by the midi note value? I would like drum pad 1 to be midi channel 1 -midi note value 1, pad 2 - midi channel 1 - midi note value 2, and so on.
Received my Push 3 today and am also running into various issues:
Immediate popped some weird exception on the first boot and skipped right past the introduction / help and demo set after that.
The jog wheel is loose (the top part can move in and out quite a lot while the bottom part is rock solid; almost feels like some screw has been skipped). The wheel is fully fitted to the encoder; it’s the entire encoder that moves.
It has already frozen about a dozen times when loading a device. Happens about once for every 10 devices I load. I need to shut down and restart to be able to do anything after that.
Something’s up with the display; there’s some decolouring / contrast difference along all edges that’s noticeable on anything that isn’t full color or black (e.g. the midi rolls or clips screen). It’s a slightly different color right from the edge of display until ~a centimeter in. Kind of looks like vignetting on a photograph.
Updating the device to the latest version and doing a factory reset didn’t fix any of this. All in all not a great start
