If you select any grouped device the „learn“ button enables you to enter a device where all variations are shown on the grid, where you can select any, you can also randomize and/or create a new variation. If you change focus to an other device the variations view closes and the „learn“ button reverts to its usual function.
Got my standalone today, wonderful. Pads are as sensitive as I could possibly have hoped for.
WIDI Bud Pro works with the USB Host port for bluetooth MIDI. I’ve tried both sending and receiving MPE with this and it works. Though if I want to send MPE pitch bends using the External Instrument device, I did seem to need to set Note Pitch Bend to On rather than Automatic in the Expression settings.
Yes that is missing and I need an extra controller because of that. unfortunately the macro variations are also missing, for that you also have to use an external controller. And everything requires that you configure this in Live. on the Push, unfortunately, this does not work (yet).
I unfortunately did not find a midi learn button on the push. I thought the “Learn” button was for midi learning but it only takes you to some tutorials.
You can record external synths knob movements easy enough (see below) are you referring to mapping an external synth parameter to one of the PUSH knobs?
Yeah. That example just records a CC and plays it back later,
I would like something like: use knob 1 of my midi controller to change the frequency of filter 1 on the analog device on track 3 (random example).
There is currently no way to change parameters on different devices/tracks at once. in my opinion a feature, that is highly needed when performing.
For those with issues with the main jog wheel, take it off and re-attach. You won’t break it. Pull it off with a bit of force. Then take your time and re-attach, you’ll need to make sure the cut out shape matches the metal encoder. Mine felt weird so I removed and reattached and now it feels how it should. It wasn’t connected properly at first
Recording the automation is in any case already good and midi learn to control external devices works with M4L (cc map8 etc).
But the other way around it doesn’t work, according to my impression. i have to prepare this in live.
I have unfortunately not been able to test whether the scripts for controllers work, because I only have Pushs, which unfortunately do not work.
I have had another random shutdown using USB C bus power in Controller mode. Push 3 has now shutdown twice for me when using it in Controller mode, connected/powered only by a USB C cable that I know works.
Have swapped that third party cable for the Ableton one and will report back if it happens again.
Out of interest how long does it take to put all Live 11 Suite content (packs etc) on the standalone Push? Can you ‘install all’ (just leaver it ruining unattended until it finishes or is it ‘1 at a time’ like in Live’?
The Suite content installs quite quickly, and the Packs will download in the background (like in Live). BUT, installing the Packs is a bit tedious, because you have to do it one by one… just like in Live.
That really sucks (as it does in Live), I have just updated 17 packages in Live and it has taken all afternoon…surely they can add an ‘instal all’ button!!!
