Anyone know if u can record the MPE expression over recorded chords? Sometimes It’s too hard to play live.
It is possible to group multiple devices on a track into a group on the push? Or otherwise how to add a device to an empty instrument rack?
If you edit the availible max4live midi cc devices so the cc numbers are fixed instead of selectable, it should work. Worked for me, very easy change to make.

I did it using the max4live device Intellijel makes for their 1u midi modules (high-res midi cc).
Can post how the modification looks when I get back to the computer in the end of the week but it was very simple. Even for me, a man with zero prior max4live experience

Is it just me or is Redux missing its dry/wet on Push SA?
It seems if you set it up as a preset on the computer and then transfer across to Push SA, then the setting you applied is carried over, but it is not possible to adjust it on Push SA itself.

Just got my controller version today, a lovely black slab of technology. Impressed with the feel and build quality. Looking forward to upgrading to standalone!
Hi there.
Made some interesting discoveries on M2 Mac mini pro.
On the 4 TB ports there are 2 TB buses.
I use 2 external TB enclosures (one on each bus), one for the system, the other one for the samples.
When I try to connect the push 3 on a TB port, one of the two TB SSD enclosures is set to USB 3.1 instead of TB causing slow startup or slow readout.
I ended using a usb-c to usb-a cable to plug on the USB A port of the Mac mini for the push data. I don’t care as I use the power supply.
but pluging the push 3 clearly brings mayhem on my Mac mini.
None of this is happening on my Macbook air m1.

Still struggling with bags to take the thing away on holiday. Just about fits in the UDG digi backpack but not in the main section as it’s about 1-2cm too long for the zip. It can be squeezed in the laptop section. Not ideal. These have been out quite a while and no flight friendly specific cases

Thanks for this. I do still think there’s something odd in the Push 3 TB behaviour. Not checked in a while but I’m sure that Push 3 shows as a usb 3.1 device when plugged in to TB. I remember thinking that was odd - and that was with all TB ports on the Mac.
Been a week now since I last heard from Ableton tech support. I suppose I could always phone them but getting a little fed up with things.
Interested to see how you’ll use the pads, if at all? Seems like a huge footprint if those pads are unused. Makes the case that some are making for a push3 mini with half the pads.
I’m going to try a similar setup but with less elektron devices and more ‘in the moment’ devices (small modular, SyntrxII, MegaFM). I’ll use the pads to record clips (loops).
Still not sure I need the stand-alone for that, time is ticking on my trial!
Ah no I’m not just going to use push as a mixer. I’ll be running a few synths inside, percussion, drum rack and more. The pads will definitely be used 
Maybe it’s asked before, but can’t find it. Maybe a stupid question.
I already own a laptop with Ableton Live Suite. The standalone version of the Push 3 is too expensive for me. But I don’t want to look at screen of the laptop , just use the controller. Is using the controller version connected to my laptop and power supply the same as using the standalone?

Not a stupid question (or, well, maybe it is, but if it is, then I have the same stupid question because I am in the same spot). I bought a controller version because the extra thousand dollars for the SA version didn’t seem worth it for my use case. However, I have found that Push 3 along side Live on the laptop is a really great combination. There are a bunch of settings in your device racks quickly available on the Push 3, but I find it nice to also have a lot more settings right there on the laptop screen when I need an expanded view of Live.

Thanks for the reply! So I can use the controller version exactly the same as a stand-alone when connected to my laptop and power supply? No need to look at the laptop screen?
Since I don’t have the SA version, I don’t know the answer to your question. I think another way to phrase the question would be: “Are there things the standalone version can do on its own that the controller version can’t do when connected to the laptop?” The reason this is a good question is because people refer to the SA version as “Live in a box.” I think, but am not sure, the answer is no, but maybe others who own an SA version have a more precise answer.

As far as I know the only thing SA can do that Controller version can not do is function independently from the computer. So you can save samples and packs directly on the push and use it separately.
SA has limited functionality compared to full computer version of Live
But to some of us it does make a huge difference in terms of it being a musical instrument. If it is more of a production rather than player approach I would think that the controller is a good option for you

I am a player, not a producer, and bought the P3C for its playability. I am using it along with my computer, hardware synths, and also using a LaunchControl XL with Live.
On a different note, are they are any packs available yet specifically for MPE? I know there are newer instruments within Live that allow you to control them with MPE modulations, and I’ve been having fun doing this with the Push (and Linnstrument), but it would be cool if there were entire packs devoted to MPE mods already set up.
