This is my issue number 1 when live performing and I was wondering how others getting around that.
Lets say I temp save my pattern(Fn+yes), I do my changes and move to the next pattern. Now when going back to the previous pattern I would need to hit (Fn+no) in a perfect timing to get my original pattern state back, which pretty much never works well. If I hit too early, it will do it for the previous pattern, if I hit too late the transition won`t work either.
It would be great if there were an option that automatically performs Fn+No for the current pattern when switching to the next one, so that the next time I return, I’ll be back to my default pattern settings.
Or what would be the best workaround ?
Also. The new digitone II and digitakt II series now come with the save performance kit option. I don`t really understand though what’s the difference to Fn+yes, except I am able to save changes with the project? The issue I am having I guess would still exist?
Maybe an idea to double each pattern before a show. So you can live perform on one pattern, move to the next one and if you want to go back you can go ‘back’ to the doubled pattern where you did not change any parameters.
So for example pattern 1 and 2 are the same, 3 and 4 and so on. You move from 1 to 3 and back to 2?
Revert to saved just before going to the second pattern. You still need to time it well but it’s much more forgiving as it switches to the next pattern anyway.
When you enter perform kit mode it keeps the currently active kit when switching to another pattern. So in stead of parameters jumping to the state of the second pattern it keeps the settings as they were from the first pattern.
Hmm that actually makes sense , I could already switch the pattern but still would have time to hit fnc+no until the cycle ends. Probably needs quite a bit of practice getting all those changes at the same time.
Oh I see. Now I understand. Thank you.
@OTH: double each pattern is a pretty good idea as well. Maybe I could use the top row for that. Thank you
