Hello everyone, i have a question about Track-volumes with my Octatrack.
I play livesets with Octatrack, Rytm and A4.
I use my Octatrack to play loops, Rytm does the drums and A4 the synth parts.
I have bought an Akai midimix controller to use with the Octatrack so i have faders for controlling the track volumes of the Octatrack.
I divided the 8 tracks in 2 sections…
T1 T2 T3 T4 are “song” 1
T5 T6 T7 T8 are “song” 2
The idea is to begin in Pattern 1, Bank 1 with “song” 1 (T1, T2, T3, T4) and at the end I mix in “song” 2 (T5, T6, T7, T8) and mix out “song” 1.
I don’t use Parts for the moment so just 1 Pattern per Bank.
For Bank 2 I’ve copied Pattern 1, Bank 1 to Pattern 1, Bank 2 so when switching to Bank 2 the same “song” which was playing/active in Bank 1 is playing now in Bank 2.
Now i make a new “song” on Tracks T1 T2 T3 and T4 which i again mix in with the current active “song” and so on…
Now, the problem i have is that when i switch to another bank i want to keep the track volumes of the “song” which was playing in the previous bank the same and the section of track must be silent to mix in a new “song” but the volumes always differs from the volumes on my midimix.
Actually i want to mix like in a dj set, but when i move to next bank the wrong song is playing due the track volumes that you can’t save.
I just want to program the levels to 0 or MAX and save this in each bank.
Is this even possible. Read something that you can do it with Arranger mode?
It is such a simple thing but i can’t make it work properly for the moment.
I bought the midimix especially for this setup i had in mind so it would be very cool if this still could work…
Someone has some advice?
Grtz!
Yes. More Scenes.
Arranger gives you control over Mutes per row and Scenes per row.
Without arranger - every Bank is connected with its own Part (one of four) that is connected to Scene you set. Scenes are per Part.
