I’ve had the A4 MK2 for a few months now and love it. Goes very well with my Digitakt and modular setup.
Anyways, I recently got a new eurorack Module - Kermit MK3, whereby you can have 4 channels of synced lfos, random etc.
I use one of the CV outs from the A4 as a clock input to the Kermit. The A4 is set to 132 BPM. However I cannot get the BPM on the Kermit module to sync up. I’ve tried various settings on the CV config page (different lengths, voltage, s-trig/v-trig) and it doesn’t sync up. The BPM on the kermit is showing 130.4 BPM when it should be 132 BPM.
Am I missing something? Its frustrating as its nearly in sync with the A4 tempo. Is it more likely there’s an issue with the Kermit module itself?
Is it possible to set up a square wave lfo on one of the CV outputs as a clock source instead? How would I go about doing this?

there are so many ways to produce a variety of different voltage pulses such that you can test what works best for a given module - but guessing between s-trig and v-trig is probably not the way to go about it - forget the number display, if it sounds synced then that should be all you need to worry about imho, but you can probably serve the algorithm/process calculating/deriving tempo by establishing what is the ideal/expected profile
typically it’d be a short pulse, i’d use Value lin - then you can vary the voltage peak, the duration, shape etc and place trigs on a spare track (maybe FX)
establish if any level and duration makes a difference to apparent audible sync or displayed sync - otherwise just ignore the secondary displayed value which might not be as accurate as the Elektron clock
There are so many threads on setting this stuff up i recommend searching those for further instructions - if you presumably establish that it’s not that sensitive to level/profile, then just fire out a short clock pulse (one of teh options allows you to vary duration)
Be sure to drop the value lin encoder value to zero if using a monopolar range - say e.g. 0-5v (the encoder would be an offset to the lowest value if not zeroed on the main ‘playing’ page (not setup page)
don’t obsess on the numeric display - check whether the sync is reliable in the audio domain
Yes you’re probably right. I’m being a bit too pedantic about the bpm display on the module. I’ll try different settings after work later and see if the modulation sounds in sync as that’s all that matters. Thanks.
