This only happens with scenes and performances, not when I press the pad to trigger the sound…
BD trigger is non-responsive most times and can only be activated/ deactivated when I press a nearby pad, again, only for scenes and performances. This seems to not always happen. Sometimes when I start it up it is perfect - and other days it comes back sometimes worse than others. And, when it does start to happen, it doesn’t stop until I power down and power back up another day, so I don’t think it has anything to do with the analog machine “warming up”
Has anyone had this issue with either the Rytm mki or mkii?
I had this issue twice. I just opened up my device and cleaned the plastic layer underneath the pads. Which gives the contact thru. Was from condense, cold car -> hot room. Last time i had it was a year + now
Its gonna cost you 50 euro no matter what. Guarantee or not. To answer your question; Its super easy to take apart. Should take not more than 15 - 20 min. As far is I know there is no seal that you can break to void your warranty. Its just a shitload of screws (feels like 50 ish)and 2 connectors to the mainboard. Just make sure you have the correct tool to unscrew,m and its a piece of cake. Even my grandmother could do it blindfolded!
If youre still worried, just hit up the elektron helpdesk and explain your situation. Ask if its ok to take apart your rytm to clean it. Maybe they’ll assist you in doing it aswell.
This does sound fairly easy to do. Did you have to disconnect any ribbon cables?
Ahh I see you did, never mind! I’ll bookmark this in case it happens to mine again cheers.
@furlatron The warranty is 3 years on Rytm an it doesn’t matter if youre the original owner.
I haven’t opened any of mine that are in warranty. 50 euros ain’t so bad for me compared to the cost of accidentally trashing one. Out of warranty I’ll batter in tho.
