Previewing and tagging kits

Currently going through the manual of the DT2 and have some questions about how kits work.

The manual says the following:

“9.3.5 LOAD (KIT)
Use the [ARROW] keys or LEVEL/DATA to select a kit. Press [YES] to load the kit to the active pattern.
Press the [TRIG] keys to preview the highlighted kit before you load it.”

it also says this:

“9.3.7 MANAGE (KIT)
Kits can be saved, loaded, renamed, tagged et cetera. Opening this menu will show a list of all presets
found in the +Drive library.”

I haven’t been able to figure out how to preview kits before loading them or how to tag them.

Any one had any luck?

When you open the file tree in the +Drive and highlight, can you tap the right arrow key to see more options? I’m very new to Elektron etc but I imagine this is the approach.

These might be features that haven’t been actually implemented yet, or the manual is outdated.

You are probably right. Hope both features make their way to the device :crossed_fingers:

New naughty here. Has anyone been able to solve this? Would love be able to simply hit the trigs on a highlighted kit to preview each should prior to hitting YES to load.

Just want to follow up on this is this still a feature that hasn’t been added yet? Just trying what the manual says and I seem to have no luck!

I found this page by searching this exact phrase. It’s on page 31 of the Digitone 2 manual.

Looks to be a copy/pasta error or some sort of boilerplate that’s snuck into more than one manual?

Does anyone know if this functionality exists in any Elektron product? If so, I think we’ve found the source of this.

Still hope it comes to pass, or at least someone from Elektron comments on it.

Hello all. Just got myself a Digitakt 2 and am trying to preview a kit before I load it but the trig keys aren’t doing it as the manual states. Did anyone get to the bottom of this?

Are you on the latest firmware 1.10A ? I could be wrong, but I think I remember this being fixed at some point.

I am, unfortunately. Guess it’s still a bug then.

Yes, it is still broken. Since it works as intended on the Digitone 2, and both are supposedly on the same platform, it shouldn’t be too difficult to fix it on the Digitakt 2 as well.
Let’s hope for a nice back from vacation release for the Digitakt 2 firmware in September.

I hope there is a fix for this coming soon, I think is way more useful on DT than in DN tbh

The Tonverk actually can preview subtrack kits. Still waiting on the DT2 to get this implemented.
