Preventing delay timing change sound

If I remember correctly, there was a way to change the pitch/tape effect so that it would just be a bit glitchy for a moment, but you wouldn’t get the weird pitching stuff. Is there a way to stop those fx on other Elektron boxes? I have some songs on my Digipair that change delay times and it always sound whack.

You could do it with a “triggerless trigger.” So, after the delay tail fades out, change the delay time on the next empty step using a trigless trig (or whatever step makes sense). I forget how to do triggerless trigs but I’m sure you can look it up.

Octatrack has a switchable option for the delay, pitch changes on/off. On Digis and Analogs, a trigless trig to change delay time “silently”, like @InTheAM wrote is probaply the best idea.

Uhm I‘m kind of uncertain, on the Digis a trigless trig… where, doing what?

I think it’s called lock trig on the Digis…
But there’s no fx track so delay could only be controlled from a midi track via midi loopback.

Easy thing on Analog Four/Keys and Rytm, trigless lock on the fx track changing delay time.

Oh whoops, yeah of course there’s MIDI too, didn’t think of that for some reason when reading this.

@Schnork @Lauli @InTheAM I see where y’all’s going with this. Since I have one of the MIDI tracks on the DT hooked into the DN FX, I could probably do that at the end of certain patterns. Good idea!

Does it matter if there is an FX track? Can’t you put a triggless trig or lock trig on any of the audio tracks and control FX parameters…I swear I’ve done it on my Digitakt before. But its cover also as a fine layer of dust over it so I could be wrong…easily…lol

Yes. You can P-lock any FX Parameters on the FX Track, not just the FX Levels found on the Amp page of the Digis.

You can’t add PLOCKS to the FX themselves (like you can on the OT and A4).

I had an A4 at one time, that must be what I’m thinking of.

I did, as well (it’s now owned by @DonovanDwyer). I really miss the ability to rock the FX dynamically.
