I moved my response here so I don’t derail the other thread!
Like the color choice. Add some green and you can forger some Edvard Munch!
Great advice!
I still learned everything and I don’t forget anything. Ever. I more like discard information I’m not using. Studio Art is analogous to music to me.
I also get bored when I feel like I learned what I needed, and I’m alway tackling the next hard endeavor. But because I learned it, it’s just waiting for me. Like a jewel.
The same thing happened with drawing. I was really into charcoal, Ritmo specifically. But painting took me away from that. Charcoal is a push pull of values, and scrubbing into the paper with my fingers. Visceral.
Painting is a layering/blending process for me. More nuanced. Less forgiveness.
The cool thing is that they both inform each other, but at a certain point, you have to choose if you want to specialize and really get good at a singular pursuit.
All just my opinion! It’s cool to talk to another artist!
Let me post up some of my art. I know I posted most of it here before, but I’ll show you a couple of my works!
