So I foolishly spent about 2 hours picking sounds from the presets that came with the OS…but it seems the sound manager sounds different depending on what kit you have loaded. Of course I didn’t have any particular kit loaded, i think it was just some doodles that I never saved…anyway the sounds were rocking, but now that i browsed to a new pattern, the pref settings are lost and all the sounds i favorited sound nothing like before…
basically - is there a way to cycle only through the performance presets of all the saved kits while having another kit or unsaved pattern/kit loaded?
I don’t think so…but you can dedicate, say one Bank (16 patterns) to be linked to 16 Kits that you like (Fx/Performance…etc) and 5 minutes of programming the A4.
So, let’s say if you’re working on pattern A04. You’re browsing sounds, then something tells you that it would rock inside that well-known serial Chorus>Delay>Void Reverb chain…then, you can:
• immediately save pattern A04 (if you really need to);
• save the kit (this is better to be done, in case you have checked the Reload on Change option);
• go to the well-known pattern that is linked to the Kit with that well-known Fx chain.
• double press a track, jumping directly to the sound you wanted to try
• get an idea
• then go back to work-in-progress Kit/Pattern and make choices =)
