Portable speaker for use with octatrack?

I’m lookinging for a reasonably priced speaker to use with my octatrack outside of my studio does anyone do this as well and have any suggestions?

I just got a Bose Soundlink Revolve and I would 100% use it as a portable speaker for making beats. The battery life and bass are both pretty good for its price range and size. There are certainly ones with longer battery life and more bass but you’ll spend twice as much.

I’ve been looking at MiniRig

and Megabooms

They both let you link multiple units, have big brothers with more bass. I’m finding unfavourable reviews of the Minirig software, but people seem to like the sound. I’m drawn to them as the underdog manufacturer.

Plenty of previous suggestions on the forum:

Excuse my ignorance but how do you do the connection between the OT and a Blue Tooth speaker. Does a BT device that you plug in the Main Outs exist?

I use the OT headphones out to the BT aux in (not all have aux in though)

Edit: I use a JBL Flip 4 but beware of the dreaded power save function.

Cause I have a Boom 3 from Utimate Ears but it doesn’t have an Aux In.

You would have to get a BT transmitter then.

So that thing exists. Thanks.

For price/performance your money would probably go a lot farther with this:

It looks like the line in isn’t exposed in that cabinet design but the board has a 1/8" stereo input so it would be simple to add a 1/4" TRS jack that would let you connect the OT’s headphone out directly to it easily. Plus it’s powerful enough that you could use it as a stage monitor for a small venue, or even play a small house/loft/gallery show with it in a pinch.

Recently, my local store has listed all sort of portable Gemini speakers. Maybe it’s worth checking. There’s a lot of them.

Just be warned - MINIRIG customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Ever.

I’d buy anything other than their brand now. I’ve never had to go through PayPal to sort out a problem with a company, or a person for that matter.

Speakers are over bassy and can’t handle it either. App is horrendous.

damn sorry i was being kinda impulsive i guess.

Good heads up. Thanks!

I never buy one that doesn’t have an aux in, I’ve had terrible luck getting the smart phones I’ve owned to ever pair with BT stuff.
