That’s where I’m at, I have two laptops, one for recording and one for sound design and sequencing (I call it my R3 book, Renoise/Reason/Reaktor) I basically make all my samples and micro sequences with that, add my hardware synth stuff and then port everything into hardware, mainly my octatracks, then sequence and record to my rme 802. I’m big on condensing and keeping things streamlined and efficient. I completely agree with you, definitely a power duo in the making .
Sorry for the late response.
As above, vividtracker. But I’ve also heard good things about sunvox.
That’s the Behringer version.
Another endorsement for SunVox here though I’ve never used Renoise or other tracker software so I have no idea how SunVox compares to the others, or if its even considered a tracker. I’ve just entered notes using the onscreen piano-style keyboard.
Loopop has been confirming more specs on Instagram. FM radio confirmed, though he mentioned “fm synth style wavetables” that I guess he’ll go over in his review. No stereo samples, mono samples only, stereo panning. No polyphony, 8 mono tracks. Shaping up to be a pretty close competitor to the digitakt. Can be powered by external usb battery pack, kinda neat.
I use my OT with long stems for one of my projects… I don’t think any are longer than 6 minutes… but there are many of them. Since it’s playing back from the CF card, there really shouldn’t be an issue with longer files, so long as you’re keeping the more intense processing stuff on flex tracks.
Great bit of relevant info and really helps me make a confident decision. Thank you.
Not sure if l missed this but where are samples stored and how much memory.
I know there’s a micro SD slot on the machine. So that’s something. Didn’t catch the other details
From what I read 2 minutes on board, unlimited storage on sd
599 for this though… that’s a killer price
Only 2 minutes memory? What is that like 10MB? (16 bit mono, 44.1khz)
Probably enough for a handful of tunes, with an SD card for longer term storage but wow I’m just kinda surprised it has less than 1/5th the Model Samples/Digitakt.
I get that trackers are all about doing a LOT with little, and compared to the Amiga days, that’s a ton of memory. But I’d think one would need more to perform with this.
I was expecting at least 64MB. Hmmm
I could be wrong.
Ah, okay I saw the press release, it’s the sample recorder that can do 2 minutes.

by the way, I removed the link to the file hosted on Elektronauts. I think it’s just not a good look for Elektron’s forum to have a leaked document like that, 3 days prior to release, hosted on their forum.
I think Polyend is certainly feeling awful about that leak and we don’t need to add insult to injury by letting people download that information direction from Elektronauts’ server.
Two minutes is not much this may be a problem especially in this day and time. I don’t understand the decision to limit memory l definitely will wait to see how this device will be used.
again, it sounds like that’s just the limit to how much you can record at one time.
I swear I’m not trying to put anyone on the defensive here—I’m genuinely curious, and admittedly don’t have any experiences with trackers myself—but what is the appeal of sequencing on a screen that looks like The New York Stock Exchange during a market crash?
What am I missing? Is there an advantage to this, or is this just nostalgia?
Cheers!
A change in perspective is fantastic for the ears. And scroll up, it’s been discussed at length in this thread.
In other words,
You got to look outside your eyes
You got to think outside your brain
You got to walk outside you life
To where the neighborhood changes
Fair enough.
Cheers!
No poly kills it for me
