Polyend Tracker

I often use tracker as a master clock as it’s not very good at being synced from an external source.
Mine works ok though when synced to an external source… as you’ve done I set the external offset. (Clock sync delay)It takes a bar or so to settle down then works.
I’ve always done this using a MIDI cable and not the usb though. Might be with trying that first ?

Logic doesnt slave to a MIDI clock. Only to MIDI time code

Only way to get this in sync is by doing it manually. By pressing play at the right moment. It will also get rid of the tracker internal latency. But I noticed jitter on the internal clock. After awhile it will desync either way

I’m not sure that’s the “only” way

When you find another way, please share your findings. We are most definitely all ears!

E-RM midi clock :+1:t6:

Again, Logic is unable to receive a master clock. It will not slave to a clock in any way.
Logic 5, when it was still Emagic, however did. Apple removed it I believe in Logic 7.

You might try with Rewire, but again I think Logic needs to be the Rewire master. Logic is always the master, unless you are sending it start stop messages over time code.

No…but Logic + E-RM = stable

This whole midi jitter thing is a laff.
So many people make awesome tracks and don’t worry about. I think it’s a great way to be distracted and keep from actually making tunes.

I went thru that phase. What a waste of time

What you think is irrelevant. The previous poster has an issue and he would like to solve it.
Perhaps he is trying to use the Tracker with Logic on a laptop for a live performance.

All Ears huh?

What?
Read his post. He says “stop trying to sync and make tunes”

Jesus Christ

Come up with an actual solution. Or at least try. Otherwise see yourself out.

The way you react suggests that he might be on to something.

You might wanna have a look at the forum guidelines.

Who? And what maybe?? Explain yourself CLEARLY.
There is a syncing issue and people are trying to find solutions.
That’s it.

Yeah it is an issue if syncing two devices you want to run in time, the PT has a bit of start lag and a bit of jitter, I filed that bug report posted above.

For me it was noticeable when syncing to OT via din midi, the PT was a few ms behind OT making things like beats sound smeared/offset.

Chill dudes and dudenesses… As far as I know Logic cannot be synced to MIDI, it always wants to be the master. Mainstage does allow some syncing. And Logic can only be Rewire Master as well.

Yes that sucks. And not in a good way.

If there is a way to convert the midi clock signal to time code (so only start - stop), you can try to set up the Tracker as a master to slave Logic. Set both to the same tempo and it might work. I don’t know if you can “convert” the signal somehow though

He did (Multiclock) but you’re shutting him off anyway.
How do you get to decide what’s relevant again and who is to take part in the discussion?

I see now that this might be a much bigger issue than I was thinking, I just thought I had some settings wrong!

So is it really the case that the Tracker won’t sync well with any DAW at all without one of those multiclock things?

I did find this that seemed to say the same thing as well and pointed to the multiclock

So how does everyone incorporate the tracker with a DAW, is it just using the track export functionality? Or does someone have it working as midi clock master and some DAW other than Logic as a slave?

On a different note (feature wishes/hopes)…

What I would love to see added more than anything is a way to render perform mode settings to a new pattern.

Not as in audio render, but creating a pattern with all the step fx applied accordingly. I guess that’s not actually possible due to the step fx limits. But I keep dreaming about this feature whenever I’m messing around in perform mode.

you’re not the only one, being able to record performance mode into the sequencer would be nothing less than stunning
