enjoy!
It’ll blow yer mind.
seems proper basic at first… but the depth and possibilities just unravel after a few days.

That’s what I’m afraid of, haha!
I wouldn’t expect anything anytime soon unless you’re an influencer unfortunately, I ordered one in late May and I haven’t heard anything. Didn’t even hear that the buttons were getting replaced!
I seen that Polyend Trackers are in stock at American Music Supply if anyone interested.
zZounds, too.
so are you guys preferring the old buttons or the new buttons and what did polyend say was the reasoning for the change anyway?
Already sold out
Thanks for the heads up regardless though
I got an email notification from them from when I was trying to buy another tracker so I posted it as soon as I got it. If I see another one I will reply to you directly so you can get to it sooner. Keep checking back on their site because you might be able to buy a unit that was returned but still in mint condition.
Just passing on what I had heard from someone who spoke to Polyend: the manufacturer of the keycaps had to change, since the original manufacturer went under due to COVID-19. The person I spoke to had an original Tracker and got to compare it to the new one, and said they like how the new ones look, and they’re also quieter. But if the Tracker becomes a successful franchise then the early models just got more valuable. Apparently the second batch also no longer pops on turning on/off and supports USB PD (in other words USB-C to USB-C cables).
I have one of the originals… the buttons are LOUD
Same, I kinda like the computeresque clicking though.
louder than the Digitakt?
Cool Pete Cannon demo/review video on Dogs On Acid for the jungle massive https://www.dogsonacid.com/threads/polyend-hardware-tracker.805267/page-4#post-12378975
Right there with it… but probably a bit quieter than digitakt.
that’s not so bad, I’m ok with the digitakt but wouldn’t want anything louder.
so my polyend trackers buttons are louder than my digitone.
Just pulled that video out of that link for visibility
the OG Tracker buttons are loud enough that I have to worry a little about waking up the kid/wife in our smallish apartment, since I can only find solitary time and mental space to play music when they’re sleeping. Aside from that the buttons are very satisfying and tactile, as mechanical keys are known for being. I accept the tradeoff without much complaint, but wouldn’t be opposed to swapping units with someone who prefers more clackity, if such an opportunity presented itself.
Does the sound seem to be coming from the switch or from the keycap bottoming out? I know in the keyboard world people have ways to quiet down keycaps when they bottom out by putting an O-ring on the bottom of the button.
