Polyend Step

Because it could be saying Reverb Pedal instead. That’s what i thought too.

Color display. ( ? ) Looks like good resolution.

Looks super fun but I already have quite a few ways to not finish tracks.

I notice that jokes in a product announcement post are never understood, I guess that’s because people are already angry about features.

Either way, it’s basically a sample player and I assume there’s no possibility to load one’s own samples.

Per step control, punch in with different effects, polymetric, polyrhythmic, MIDI controllable.

Sounds like for practice you can really create some challenging tracks, and exercises, that would still be interesting and musically real.

It’s deceptive from the front, there is a ton more to this thing.

But why do you really want to stay there? Try this new gear and add one more to your list.

By the way it really looks like a Boss pedal. I wonder if the manufacturer is the same or something. And I must say why this font??

Not sure if I would ever have need for this (unlikely), but I think this looks fantastic for drummer-less bands and solo artists. Nice, sturdy looking design too.
The only ‘flaw’ I personally see, which bums me out with lots of looper pedals as well, is it seems like it would be more practical to have the ‘brain’ part of the machine on a mike stand mount and a cable that runs down to the pedal switches. I know there are different midi controllers and whatnot that could do it, but to simplify it into one device would be less expense, faff to deal with

It would be helpful if you could use the expression pedal input for triggering / switching as well as param changes. I guess you can always use a MIDI pedal provided they have a decent implementation.

Polyend will be doing more pedals, now with Press and Step.

From Polyend’s Backstage:

you can create your own “kits” of 4 samples and load them on the SD card.

EDIT: Oh, and interaction with other Polyend products.

Play patterns are compatible with “Beats”, so you can make beats on the first four tracks of Play and load them in the beat folder on Step.

… plus all the other stuff with this product looks like they spent their time with the design, and went back and forth on features, usability and integration.

Looks good.

Can you apply effects to the external input too, or only the drums ?

It’s more likely that they want to branch out and do more than be a “synth company,” which I’m all for. This thing is probably interesting for the right person but it’s not surprising that most Elektronauts users aren’t its primary audience.

Well I for one welcome something different. As a cool and good looking guitar player this looks like fun.

As a sax / wind, keyboard player ( who likes picking up a guitar ), this looks great for practice, and fun, as opposed to a music minus one sort of approach, where you are stuck with one thing.

Gonna need to see your beard credentials.
