That one part of the video with same colors in boxed areas looked kind of like the Hapax mode with the drum velocities.
It’s fun to speculate…so many new sequencers…damn, I need to stop buying ALL of them.

I suspect it’s just a usability feature - the oxione has something similar so you can keep track of the grid

Yeah it’s like a thing you do right before dropping all the details.
